I am trying to complete all achievements in Brutal, and so far, only one escapes me : "Less is More", aka, do the 3rd mission with 35 supply at most.
35 supply is really not a lot. Typically, I manage to squeeze in 4 tanks, nearly empty bunkers, complete 4 garrisons before I simply get overrun.
The garrison order are the two reaper garrisons first, then the marauder one which requires a nuke, then the bottom right one which also requires a nuke
Apart from that, the 2nd mission was a pain :bunker everywhere, constant production on 4 barracks, prioritize the defilers, keep your reapers alive (and their mines) for the last waves, try to kite the brutalisk
I think I manage to just lose 10 bunkers all in all (crucial to save your marines when a bunker falls)
The key to the 35 supply achievement is mass nukes. Your opening build should be to build around 4-5 Ghost Acedemies so that they block off the chokes and protect your siege tanks. I didn't realize this on my first playthrough, but the more Ghost Acedemies you have, the more nukes you can have. It's also important to capture the garrisons as fast as possible, beause your enemies will start getting stronger as the game goes along.

Ahhhhh, didn't realize the thing about nuke either. Thanks for the tip, I'll try it
The trick is two siege tanks, three bunkers and then, yeah, mass nukes. Except I didn't do it with mass nukes! I bet the power of repair is strong with me!
I did the 35 supply one, using 1 nuke whole game. I just made 2-3 tanks for defense, then 3-4 bunkers and produced just units that were needed for garrisons. Oh, and don't produce a single SCV in the mission.
The earlier you take a garrison, the easier it is for defending attacks -> I took the two on the left really quickly.
I used Nova 100% of the time to clear a garrison defense, starting from the very beginning of the game using mostly kiting and her W - grenade with a big AoE.
Finished the mission really quickly, in like 10-12 minutes or so.

Pick the Shotgun as Novas Weapon, collect the gas pickups scattered around the cliffs, spend your first 400 minerals on a command center next to your ally's planetary fortress so you can mine his mineral patches in addition to your own.
Nova can easily handle the first few attack waves on her own, so build up your infrastructure before starting unit production. Make about 4 to 5 barracks, one with reactor and three with tech lab and start constant marauder / marine production. Get an orbital command when you can afford it so you can use the supply drops allowing you to make less supply depots. Get the infantry attack upgrade, armor won't hurt but isn't that critical.
Get a few bunkers on high ground (the spots with markings are perfect for this) to make the Defilers cast Dark Swarm and waste their energy prematurely before reaching the actual entrances. Nova can help with this. Your main force should be at the entrances though. Get bunkers in front of your ally's bunkers and start repairing them with quite a few SCVs once the waves start getting stronger. Try to take out the banelings using Nova's abilities.
Marauders are key. They kill all the dangerous units very quickly, including the brutalisk and the ultralisks later on. Ignore the distress calls for the bonus objective as you will need to devote quite a few resources spent in reapers to save the facilites as well as face the risk of Nova being out of energy to kill off banelings before they reach the bunkers.
I actually didn't think of stealing Horner's mineral patch. Definitely would have been easier. I put a lot of bunkers and mines in front of Horner's and I floaed my barracks (4) to wall off the trenches before my bunkers. That did the trick for me, but barely.
There's a trick about the second part of this mission which makes it super easy. In the first part, you can fly some of you building to the top left of the map (about at 10 clock), then you will find them float the bottom when you get the second part. You may just build mass tank+marine and nuke everything. I found this in a Chinese website which has some pictures: http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4468551153
you can also run to the bonus object with nova whether you have the jet pack or cloak. but keep in mind YOU WILL GET ADDITIONAL UNITS BY DOING IT so IT WILL COUNT TOWARD YOUR SUPPLY
