Note that this is because ByuN's best matchup on Aligulac is his TvT, which is not only rated more than 300 points above his worst (TvP), but also completely irrelevant if he was subbed in for INno.

Wasn't PartinG a champion as well? The first one if I recall. Maybe because the format was different...

Different system. He won WCS 2012 - imho the best one - with nationl into continental into global championships hierarchy instead of WCS points. This was the system in which Stephano won WCS Europe, Scarlett won WCS NA etc. Parting was 3rd in WCS Korea (Creator won), then 2nd in WCS Asia (Rain won) and won WCS Globals. Interesting to know that while majority of korean zergs failed to qualify to WCS Asia, WCS Asia and Global championships happened during Broodlord/Infestor era in WoL so while WCS Asia and WCS Globals were protoss heavy (herO, HerO, Rain, Parting), everything else was zerg heavy (later on we got Life vs Parting Blizzard Cup finals - which was very impressive because top 6 were 5 zergs and Parting). http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2012_Battle.net_World_Championship EDIT: in a way the first one was Mvp who won BlizzCon 2011 - for which, outside Korea, you qualified via regional Battle.net Invitationals. I discard BlizzCon 2010 from this category as this was purely invite-only competition, while the former was semi-invite-only.

Yeah great recap, good times ![]() I know MVP was a champion as well, but he isn't on this tournament (PartinG is out I know, but he was part of the tournament), that's why I mentioned him because he is a past champion as well as Life and sOs. Nonetheless, nice fun facts.
