Its really interesting how so many of these players are either declining or in a very uncertain state formwise. Right now it's hard to say which players are on top of the world. herO, Life or Maru have a chance to cement themselves there for a while, but more likely is that diverging results at the top level will result in an even more difficult to read situation.

I don't know where Fantasy went wrong. His early transition looked promising and it looked like the game suit him well. He qualified for the individual leagues and even though he didn't get far had flashes of brilliance. I even remember when he was doing well in proleague and was called upon for a few ace matches. Then all of a sudden he disappeared and never made an appearance for SKT in proleague and here he is now...

The Maru and INno articles I can't agree with. Re: Maru, I don't think that he's vengeful, and I definitely don't think he's not a Champion - he's on the verge of being a two time GSL champion, and he was literally one laggy game away from defeating Life at IEM Taipei. But it's a fresh perspective, so I'll give it that!

The click-baity anti-hype in INnoVation's article is too melodramatic for my tastes. The dude has won two of the biggest premier events in Korea and was a finalist in a third (one game away from taking the title), and he's being compared to Marine King? Sorry, we have a pretty good idea of where INno ranks in the hierarchy of things, and it's right at the god damn top.

Don't get me wrong, I'm hyped. The games are going to be spectacular. There's just nobody here that fills me with strong emotion as to whether they win or lose.

Closest out of this bunch are Fantasy, Life, Taeja, Maru and Dark.

Life's won more than enough shit. If he wins, cool. Contribute to the developing bonjwa storyline and save Zerg again. If not, whatev, there's plenty of other stuff to see him in.

Fantasy and Dark are fun players that could use a premiere title. That's about it.

Taeja is basically Life to a lesser extent. Already enjoys a glorious career and though I like him, I don't like him THAT much. Though, a win from him would be fun to stir the everlasting controversy of Taeja's position among the greats.

Maru is just flat overdue for another big win. Didn't win anything in 2014 despite the great adversity he faced in Korea.

This was an amazing article! Thanks for this. This tournament is so crazily stacked, my favorites are Maru and herO by far but many others are great players that I would also cheer for! The best example of this is Cure, such a great player and such an iron will.

i think i watched most if not all tournaments in last few years and i like this lineup the most...by far. Maybe i would add Jaedong and Parting but lets not be greedy. I want to watch each and every game of this tournament.

Btw, my heart says FanTasY but my mind says herO.
