WCS AM will continue to include LatAm, Oceania/SEA, CN, and TW/HK/Macau, you can all stop freaking out about it. |

Problem is you don't see that many KeSPA or other Korean teams send their players to overseas tournaments unless it is their ace(s) or happens to be close-by. Even if they do raise Korea's prize pool and WCS points proportionately it will still be the same people being sent to the same events and the other players can't be as competitive or prove themselves.

Like are we only getting 1-2 players from CN/KR out of however many premier/challenger slots? no announcement yet, but they'll have those slots freed up from the wildcards

Neither do I. If they want to wipe out the Koreans that are in Premier, they just need to enforce this "residence" requirement and that's all. Why reset it?

All this having been said, I really wish China would get its own, 4th region. It's about time.

Why reset it? because then you have empty slots everywhere, and it's unfair to the many booted players that were in premier and now have to qualify again with only a small number of slots available

Well, thing is, that they can't throw, let's say, Pigbaby into GSL Ro32 next season, because he just advanced into Ro16 of WCS AM. Different regions - different rules, easier to reset everything instead to avoid possible mess.
I can't imagine though, how is GSL going to handle it, lol. I guess, they will just hold big Code B for everyone with seeds in Code A going to top-16 players in GSL this season, but it's still, 64 players in Code A which is too much.

Its region locked, so they would have to boot anyone who doesn't get a visa. Then who do you replace them with? Rather than deal with that mess, they just reset everything. Keep the guys who have a visa in Premier and adjust the Challenger League according to the remaining number of slots needed in Premier.

Hate that decision. Don't see what was wrong with the system they had now.

I WANTED TO EMBARASS JAEDONG AGAIN - Has/Jim/All of China

Cool. Hope one of the Chinese players wins WCS 2015. Feels like the Chinese and SEA scene has been an afterthought, especially considering how awfully MLG handled the initial qualifiers for WCS.

She's gonna win WCS AM with all the Koreans in this final month and make the region hers. :D

Man this is a mega bummer, there's just no room for all the koreans that are pretty far ahead of foreign talent in one tournament....
well, at least maybe olimoleague will get more participants?

I actually wonder if the region-locking is their attempt to legitimize their competition a little more by having more players seeking and being granted visas to play overseas. Europeans have also said that Koreans living there and practicing there has really increased the skill level so this all seems like a back-ended way to make the competition better.
