Mousesports continues to support young and talented StarCraft II players in Europe: After Majestic joined the team, also Dutch newcomer Wouter "Sjaak" Honig will strengthen the mousesports SC2 roster. He will leave his former team to join the German club.
Not long ago, Wouter "mouz Sjaak" Honig surprised the StarCraft scene with his stellar play at DreamHack Summer 2014, where he was able to defeat established players like Ko "HyuN" Seok Hyun (KOR), Chris "HuK" Loranger (CAN) and recent WCS EU runner-up Jo "Golden" Myeong Hwan (KOR) to finish among the three best European players at the event. The 15-year-old also took 4th place in the Dutch StarCraft League last weekend, including a 2-0 victory over Manuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen.
As of today, Honig will join the mousesports StarCraft II division, to line up with his new teammates. Honig is the fourth SC2 player in the current roster who's of age 17 or younger - only veteran Dennis "mouz HasuObs" Schneider has passed the 18-year mark. "Markus and myself have been hard at work for the past few months trying to scout for new talents", says mousesports StarCraft II Coordinator Reece "mouz Tidus Mino" Fowler.

Wouter "mouz Sjaak" Honig: "I'm very excited to announce that I will be playing for mousesports, this is a dream come true for me. The last year has been crazy and I have improved significantly. I would like to thank my former team EC Visualize for creating an environment where I was able to train and attend tourneys, as well as making this trade happen. I intend to work hard and earn my spot in the mousesports roster. I will be competing at the upcoming ATC event and I will also try to qualify for WCS. This is a really great opportunity given to me by mouz, as I will be able to take my gaming career to the next level. Also thanks for all the fans who have been cheering for me, I hope I can give you many more great games to come. Special thanks to Markus and Tidus of mousesports as well as our sponsors BenQ, EpicGear & XMG."
Reece "mouz Tidus Mino" Fowler: "Sjaak fits the team perfectly and has already bonded well with his new teammates. We are dedicated to working hard to improve our members both as players and as professional gamers. Together with our sponsors BenQ, EpicGear and XMG we aim to provide a platform for young players like Sjaak and Majestic to prove himself to a global audience and engage with their new found fans. With our new Protoss Duo joining the established team we have, I feel we have a powerful international lineup that will continue to flourish as time progresses."
Was this the only foreigner who was left in the Ro16 who was later defeated by Taeja? I recall watching the match, but I can't remember whether it was HSC or DH. If so, this guy definitely has promise.

It was DH.
Thanks. This feat and Taeja's two consecutive and undefeated wins were the only things I remember from those events.
Mousesports always has a good hand at chosing talents. With their two new players I believe they will actually stand a good chance to get second at ATC.

Err I fear their lineup of Hasuobs, Heromarine, Starbuck, Majestic, and Sjaak will still have some trouble against Team Taeja if you know what I mean.
Either way good pickup! Mouz got the second most Bonjwa potential player in Europe (the first being of course Scoobers)
Half the sources say his name is Wouter Honig and half the sources say his name is Wouter Bree. I'm aware this isn't important at all, but it brings out my OCD about putting correct informations in databases ^.^

Let's not forget Team Acer. They're probably going to be one of the toughest hurdles Mouz has to overcome. Sad to see Lucifron go. If he remained, I'd say that would make Mouz's roster stronger and far more well rounded.
This is a good pick-up. Sjaak definitely an up-and-coming player worth picking up. I kind of equate this to them picking up Starbuck (although Starbuck was a little further down the line in that he got to WCS Premier) which turned out to be a fantastic signing for mouz.

You think it's a coincidence this guy is so young? Probably not asking for much.
Great pickup. Mouz looking strong!
I dunno what you talkin about Mouz signed my man Dear on top form and just released him when he fell to code B in 3 months. Makes you worry for most promising players they keep signing.

Pretty sure both mouz and dear stated that him dropping to code B had no barring on their plans to release him, as it had already been decided before the match

To be fair, they released him BEFORE he fell into Code B. They said they wanted to move away from the Korean scene, if I recall correctly. Dear even tweeted after he got knocked out that the decision to drop him was made before he played his matches or something along those lines.

Oh yeah I think they will struggle against Acer as well, but I just said Liquid because that is their first opponent in the playoffs.

Yes, when Hasu joined Mouz, the rest of the current team was between 6 and 7 years old.

What I'm talking about is money. This is pure speculation but, a player like Dear demands a high price. He's a 25 year old world class player. If you're signing European players who aren't even 18 yet, they probably still live at home. They're willing to sign for less money.

Isnt that how it works with real jobs as well? Young people without much experience earn much less than older people with experience and a certain degree? So whats wrong with it, be happy the guy gets a chance!

Our official position is "thanks for the free win", *insert popular online reference to sarcastic remark which is not explicitly allowed in the TL rules but we all know what it is anyway here*
edit: Seriously though. It's TakeTVs call, I don't believe it is properly stipulated in the rules what should happen in a situation where a team dips below the required number of players right before the playoffs. I would hope the rules are amended should there be another season to properly clarify that situation and ensure that the focus of ATC remains on creating and maintaining a successful and consistent team lineup. We will fight whoever is sent our way and we're focused on Acer who are by far the strongest opponents in the playoffs.

Idno how he did in DH but he reminds me of inCa, getting DTs Every map. Think people just need to learn his playstyle and he'll probably fall off pretty quick from the map unless he can play another style other than DTs.
I'm saying this soley from watching ATC where he has gone DTs every single game.

Whoops plans got wrong. Error 404: Free win not found
Huge congratz to mouz and Sjaak! Despite the words of TB about the "free win" I don't think that Axiom underestimated their opponents - just not their day.

I haven't seen all games, but in those I have seen Sjaak only went for DT openers as a response to hard pressure (ie against impact's proxy hatch or Heart's drop opener). Crank got seriously outplayed by Sjaak who went Stargate against an DT opener. (even so Sjaak got his own late game DTs and totally anihilated Crank's base, that game had been won before though). And at least in 2 vT matches he went DTless. So I don't think the Inca comparision is very well-founded

Well the thing is that he doesn't open Gateways, like that happens.. never.. Not in terms of cannon-rush, but in terms of opening like with 3 gates and making Stalkers.. He simply NEVER does that.. Even vs Zerg lol..
I remeber that habitation station DH game vs Golden when he had like 3 bases, 1 gate and 1 Stargate making mass chrono Oracles.. There were like 3-4 Oracles hitting Zerg at the 9 minute mark and his units were 1 Zealot, 1 Sentry, MSC and 4 Oracles, AND 3 bases.. He literally does nothing most others do.. Even vs Zerg he had 3 ground units till the 9-10 minute mark.. He was owning Golden before that "poorly placed Zealot" at his gold base let those Lings run in..I've seen like nothing similar, nor could ever DREAM that no-gate (or just a few gate units) play was viable, lol..
So that's what I meant of by saying - he's showing us that all this time Protoss were doing it wrong, rofl

Ehm, Welmu? Let's not get there too quick, I'd be happy, if I could call mouzSjaak the best foreigner in the future, but let's wait a bit, until he brings these kind of results on a regular basis.
