He may not make it big in dota like he thinks he's going to either. On the reddit thread they are talking about how terribly difficult it is to break into the dota pro scene. One thing is for sure, you've got to be young. I was speaking with an SC2 pro who is trying to become a pro dota that I know personally named pokebunny about this. We concluded that dota is more akin to breaking into the music industry than breaking into say Professional chess like I'm aiming to do. In any case this is just my take. I'm not condemning baby knight but what the guy said has some merit. It was just the way he said it that it that got him banned. Wasn't he a high level DoTA player before? Babyknight doesn't owe the scene shit, he had some good results that he earned from hard work and grew disillusioned with the game. That post you were referencing was ridiculous. It's the mentality that because one is good at something they you are obligated to continue doing it even while not enjoying it that makes me happy that I am not talented at anything.

No real comment about the extremely subjective first part though. If you get through a round or two in TI it's better money. The prize pool from the crowd sourcing thing they're doing is insane. Whatever you think of the genre them DOTA2 players get behind their game (and Valve gives them ways to...). The player pool is big and distinguishing yourself and getting a team seems largely luck/networking based in these things. With the limited mechanics and dependence on coordination and interactions you can't really stand out by smashing up the ladder or the weekly tourneys like you can in SC2. You'd need a good team for that...

![]() That being said, I respect your decision! Playing a game full time for a long period of time is really tough and can become quite the chore so it's understandable! Thanks for all the great results and games! You will be missed! Don't you think though that the same will happen with Dota eventually? Good luck with it regardless ![]()

If you think SC2 is competitive, dota is just as rough and there are very good talented teams at the top and tryin to break in.
