Intel Extreme Masters, WCS Challenger Leagues, GSL Code A, ASUS ROG Winter – the first three months of 2014 featured 43 tournaments with more than $500 prize money. So who was on fire in this competition? Well, the obvious answer is: Koreans! But not only them: Take a look at our image gallery to spot the one foreigner that dares to resist the allmighty far eastern dominance!

(for the whole list with explanations for each player click on the image)

Hi, it's a little early to list the most successful players of 2014… in April 2014. There are still 9 months before the year is over.

Very cool to see such an even race distribution.

Very cool to see such an even race distribution.

Following the statistics, we can esee that foreign success=not highest level, Zerg is doing well, but at the highest level=Korean level, Protoss do the best.
So you can really determine how Protoss takes the most skill, but that skill is rewarded the most.

If it's so obvious why do you feel the need to state it? Even after it's already been mentioned in the FIRST reply of the thread.

It is like Titanfall ! It was the best game of 2014 before it was 2014 ! Okay I guess you need that PR if you want to sell a multiplayer only game for full price. So some people might be sensible to calling things early .

Interesting list though thanks. MC should have been on Sos spot though, the 100k should have been his T.T.

Eh, not including proleague or the fact there's really only been one major tournament with the first season of wcs ending soon is kinda lame... soo/Zest will probably both be on the list as soon as the final is played tomorrow and Zest/Maru/TY with their insane proleague records have -really- been the hottest players of the year so far.

And why does the IEM championship carry more points than GSL? That's just silly.

So that's what he was doing, I didn't understand what he wrote.

You're right, clearly protoss is more difficult to play than terran at the highest level. Look at the mountains of evidence to support this claim.

Why should I follow a rating system which adds an arbitrary amount of points for tournament placings instead of systems such as elo or aligulac which factor in every match as well as the skill level of opponents? Sorry OP, but your ranking system pales in comparison to the other more established ones out there.

The GSL carries more points dumbass, GSL has 2000 for champion, IEM WC is 1500for champion

thanks for your effort.
i myself find the list very missleading since Zest isnt evven in it and is one of the top 5 players right now. even before his gsl win.
