Why not? KT and CJ recently signed new recruits that will likely show up in round 2, IM just got a lot more via a temporary merger. It's within the rules.
Besides, I don't think this is all that groundbreaking. Realistically, I'd only expect Life and Curious to displace any IM players with maybe Hack subbing in for Byul come the ro16 in WCS AM.
Yeah, but KT and CJ signed players and made them a part of the team. This is kind of like the joker rule in the Acer Teamstory Cup, but with an entire team. It's very excessive.
Guess IM doesn't have much confidence in its own roster lol
I don't think it is as much IM blostering their roster. It is likely IM is trying to get some of these players a chance to play. Remember that if you are playing in Korea and not in Code S, you aren't doing much in 3 months except some foreign tournament qualifiers that aren't broadcasted.

That's even worse. It's only a Bo5, meaning that likely only 4 players will be fielded. And IM is already such a large team. And they want to take even more opportunities to play away from their OWN players so that Hero and the Startale players can get some play time? That doesn't make any sense

You're a big axiom-acer fan and you're going to shit on a team league partnership?
I am not against all teamleague partnerships, just poorly thought out ones. Axiom-Acer partnership was because the individual teams were too small and had difficultly filling a lineup. In addition, the partnership only added about 2 Acer players (Scarlett and MMA, then MMA and Innovation), so it wasn't an excessive increase in players. The two teams already were sharing a teamhouse, and the players really seemed to mesh well in terms of team culture.
Startale and IM are both massive teams by themselves, and should have no issue filling a Bo5. Plus, look at all the people wondering about whether or not Startale is about to disband. That's bad for Startale. Plus, now you have all these players competing for so few playing spots. You have players like Trap, Squirtle, Byul, Ruin, Mvp, Nestea, etc. etc. etc. IM has an insanely deep roster already, and now the team is giving its own players less of a chance to get playing time.
I hated the EGTL partnership as well (even though it was necessary for PL), because it killed the greatest foreign team rivalry. It all depends on the overall strategy of the partnership, and this one doesn't make sense to me.

Well, most of their own players are in Code S or WCS NA/EU. UngNim was the only one that wasn't (and I guess Lucky now).

Anyways, sorry Liquid in the bottom right, but... Life+Mvp too sexy. Send TLO to Korea and we can discuss it anew.
Thing is: I would like to see MVP play, he just played a single game this round (iirc).
Startale is not going to die. They are sponsored by red bull. If not RB then who would sponsor esports at all. I feel they gonna stay forever. And for the hype: Lifuuuuu
