You can do a mixed system, many sports do it. Higher ranked players are distributed over multiple groups and lower ranked players are then seeded in randomly. That way we don't get stupid shit like Bomber or Check going out before CL even begins.
WCS without Bomber would feel so strange and so wrong. I had already planned for his games vs Scarlett in challenger.
