Maybe some stuff on how they plan to improve. I would expect anything ground breaking.

probably going say its the players fault for getting confused about the 200 wins requirement and not understanding the blizzard handbook fully
NASL tried to help the players understand, but there were too many players who could not grasp the rulings, so NASL generously offered to redo the qualifier at another time and date instead of disqualifying (like 90%) of the players
|
I really do want to know the number of players without 200 wins. If it is 80-90% then setting a new date is the best thing to for the viewers and the event itself.

Someone said it was 18 guys with 200 wins. If true that is pretty abysmal, and would have turned the qualifiers into a travesty.
|
To bad liquipedia gave up saving the ladder standings at end of seasons. Or is there a way to write a quick script to extract the info from Bnet like they do for WoW. I bet my toe R1ch could hack that together and TL could hold these qualifiers with 1 day prep.
May the qualifier on the 9th run more smooth than the others.

Rotterdam and MrBitter said that (only 18 players with 200 wins) on stream i think?

I think they are both fucked up in equal, but different ways. Counting to 200 is hard.

More of a situation where neither of them knew the rules. The website (Run by NASL) clearly states 200 wins from last season or this season . Everyone got confused the wins had to come from this season and the shit show commenced.
It was wise, in my opinion, to hit the reset button and start fresh.

Hey that's a big number, I can only really count to 7, so I made sure to win 7 games 3 times, that should be at least 200 right?
How hard can it be, really, the information was everywhere. What made this fuck up so epic was that everyone did seemingly everything wrong. It was a like a perfect storm of fail. First the circus show that was saturday, and then completely canceling the event and postponing because no one had a clue what was going on. Imagine what it must look like for a sponsor who might be new to Esports.

The second season wasn't that old and it seems a lot of players didn't have enough wins with both combined. I think it might have been the fact that NASL never expected the 200 win requirement to be an issue at all.

Rotterdam and MrBitter said that (only 18 players with 200 wins) on stream i think? It looked like the 18 said on stream was actually a reference about the number of qualification slots left for WCS AM across all remaining qualifiers, because well...there are 18 slots, but there were actually 21 players in the updated brackets they released around the same time.
Edit: clarified

They also claim dozens of players didn't register at all (like Nathan for example), when they in fact did. It's not possible all those people happened to dream registering.

So either one of those 2 is lying or the players are, which I doubt, but you never know

For some reason I can't load the interview (ERROR 500) but I just wanted to add, that Mr. Bitter said on ESGN that Binarybeast is currently going through updates for their webpage and they belive that the registrations got lost because of that.

which gives us http://wcs.battle.net/sc2/en/articles/ladder-wildcard-clarification-and-update
For Season 1 of 2014, we will be allowing an exception for players attempting to get their 200 wins before the European or American Ladder Wildcard qualifier. Seasons 2 and 3 of 2014 will operate rule 1.0 – G in the WCS Player Handbook.
Season 1 2014 Ladder Wildcard Requirements Exception Players with 200 wins on one account on the region’s host ladder cumulative between 2013 Season 6 and 2014 Season 1 will be eligible to compete in Ladder Wildcard Qualifiers for all remaining spots without meeting any residency or citizenship requirements. The host ladder is the “Americas” server for WCS America and “Europe” server for WCS Europe. Wins will not be added between multiple accounts.
Players must register for the qualifier with the StarCraft II Character ID and Code with 200 wins. Admins may request players change their Character ID with the Season 1 2014 Free Name Change to allow for efficient administration of the tournament.
The masters requirement (section 1.0 – A in the WCS Player Handbook) still applies to all Ladder Wildcard qualifiers.

rofl what fuckers of course they would do that. I know for a fact I signed up day 1 and I got removed. Other people even said they saw my name when they registered. Doesn't surprise me that NASL would try to make it sound like it's not their fault. Really hope someone else does it next season but I doubt it.
