The qualifier might be a hot mess, but without all the details, who knows what caused it. I respect the players trying to get this solved on their own and contacting Blizzard, but demanding that people be fired it just dumb. There are other qualifiers(from my understanding) and the players how might have missed out on this one will get a chance to play then.

Or you know, the man who is paid to be there could turn up, people don't get randomly disqualified, the qualifiers can run in an agreeable manner like every other qualifiers did, and everyone is happy. Wouldn't that be preferable... Kicking up a fuss is the only way this can happen.

I thought the admin was first present, then left his position in the face of disaster and reappeared again after one hour? Damn, too many heated opinions here, what was the correct order of occurences?

I can't tell what it true and what isn't Reddit provides no hints of truth, only more questions. Some people claim that an admin died, others claims a bunch of people signed up who don't own SC2 or HotS. Others claim wild things and it sounds like people might be trolling the shit out of the WSC qualifiers. Its is, in every way, a hot mess.

Being willing to cut a whole organization because of a serious screw up sends a strong message to anyone else who wants to do a WCS event. You better take the time and effort to do it right, or else. In the "real world" companies/contractors get dropped all the time after only one mistake. It's about having accountability, and ensuring there is proper motivation for people to follow through. However, I will agree that a lot of the rhetoric in this thread is rather over the top and not really serving much use.

I don't buy the overreaction from people, and certainly don't care to join in - however, the number of errors they made today is astounding. Infinitely more than a "slightly" messed up qualifier.

I work with vendors all the time and they make mistakes, but you move on because some day down the line you will make one too. You don't pull all your business unless you have overwhelming numbers of reasons to do so. What is going on today is not good enough of a reason. If you pull your business due to a bunch of mistakes during the qualifier, you may not be able to find other people to work with you(or vendors that you want to work with). Quality companies don't want to invest time and resources into your work if you are going to pull it at the drop of a hat. I have clients who threaten to do that all the time and we don't take their work any more. Its not worth it.

Others claim wild things and it sounds like people might be trolling the shit out of the WSC qualifiers. Its is, in every way, a hot mess. There was one admin that was there around 11:30am PST. Initially he was trying to sort out the bracket problems where people were denied permission to view it, that got fixed and the brackets were up. Several people who were signed up before weren't in the bracket and it was a big mess. The admin was still there around noon when he stopped talking in chat/replying to peoples messages. The admin was away for about 30-40minutes, comes back and says sorry. He also said it he was a different admin but that may have been a joke, obviously 'the other admin died' was a joke. Later on (I already left by then) a fake admin was trolling people which may have caused more issues. It was a bit of a mess and I don't know how worse it got after I left but after how awful S3 qualifiers were it's a real shame they botched this first qualifier for 2014. They can still do better for the rest of them but I honestly wouldn't count on it. I wish they would just let ESL run it or something, even though ESL isn't perfect they at least run the qualifiers decently well.
