if a lot less LoL players are having RSI issues this could also be a factor in his decision. it seems like every SC2 pro battles RSI. Haven't heard any news of any LoL (pro)player with wrist issues yet. Playing LoL isn't that apm intensive since you don't want to spam your keyboard/mouse clicks like you would in SC2. Actually the season two world champion mid laner toyz retired for a while due to wrist issues among other problems (Let's just say the Taiwanese community wasn't nice)

I don't think he'll make it in LoL, but maybe he'll prove me wrong just to spite me.
Why wouldn't he? He far exceeds the required skill level. He had great strategical play in sc2. The only thing left is to learn all the champs (couple of months if he is playing many hours every day) and practice coordination with his teammates. Not to mention we're talking about a player whom was famous for his micro, that should translate very well.

Thanks for the memories MKP, gl hf in what you do~!

wow great news. welcome to LOL marineking

Nooo not him to GL MKP!

to be the best player in LoL, you need a best team. That's why MKP can't be a champ in LOL like what he had done in SC

Also, micro alone can't win you games. If it did, then Sky would be far better at DotA than he really is, lol.

Lots of SC2 progamers already play LoL in their spare time. Nevertheless, some rts skills are kind of overkill for MOBAs, unless ur playing Meepo or something. I don't expect many who switch to shine.

Why wouldn't he be a team player, specifically in a game all about team cooperation lol. As far as strategy, he was a huge risk taker early on which would pay off very well in LoL, lots of the flashier moves players pull off could be considered calculated risks.

WoDx stopped playing LoL for like 3-4 months due to wrist injury, I don't think the injury was caused by LoL, but he made it much worse by playing LoL, he's only just recently started playing again.

Besides, that's a skill he can grow through practice and experience anyways. I wouldn't be surprised if he focuses on mid or top lane, the two most solo focused lanes.

Not to mention we're talking about a player whom was famous for his micro, that should translate very well. Personalities and characters are way more important in team games. You can be a terrific solo player but not necceserily team player. And what is worst that you have to learn to depend on others and have humility. Sometimes trying to do everything on your own is a big mistake, This is probably why many SC players are not that succesful in mobas.

A lot of the LoL bashing here makes me laugh.
I used to think it was a silly game, doesn't require much skill, and is a cheap rehash of Dota.
Then I actually played it, about 2 months ago.
Me and my friends play it a lot, and have a lot of fun with it. And for a while it was all we played.
And what's funny is because I played League a lot a gained a new respect for Starcraft
People need breaks... especially from a game like Starcraft... I'm sure this isn't the last we've seen from MKP... he'll be back... Legacy of the Void perhaps.
|
Excited to see how he does. I've been following LoL a lot more closely than Starcraft for a while now (I know, I'm a heretic, but I don't care), so we'll see if MKP can win #1 in my heart in LoL, too.

Goodbye MarineKing, you were awesome.

I haven't seen too much gameplay videos of LoL.. seemed really confusing to me. But I can understand the interest in it. Teamplay would be quite entertaining.
I'm just really biased, coming from BW to SC2.. love all three races.I don't even play SC2, just love watching progames. From a viewer standpoint, SC2 is an epic head-to-head competitive game.. looks so awesome.. especially when you're watching these great progamers duke it out.
All the best to MarineKing.
