Nowadays, LoL casters are fairly good, metagame is very aggressive and entertaining to watch, and LCS is to LoL what Proleague was to Brood Wars in its final years- I find the LoL eSports scene to be more cohesive and less chaotic than SC2's, as instead of a bunch of random tournaments all over the place being organized by different parties in different places, LoL's pro scene is organized by just one party, which is Riot. As much of a Blizzard fan as I am, their efforts to make SC2 more entertaining to watch have been too little, too late. Riot has been a lot more daring when it comes to balance changes and trying to make its game less passive and more entertaining- and this has been a huge success of theirs, even if they've largely failed at other goals (melee ADCs and bruisers generally blow as ranged champions are kings, and as a patchwork solution Riot at least managed to make melee assassins work as these are quite good). But when it comes to SC2, there's still far too much deathball vs. deathball posturing followed by a really short fight that decides the game... this is just not fun to watch at all, Blizzard had the example of Brood Wars and how to make engagements more entertaining but their game is still plagued by this. Lately they've had some success with attempts at promoting harassment gameplay, but as I said before- too little, too late. I wish all the best to SC2, but LoL is much more successful than SC2 right now, and this undoubtedly influenced MKP's decision to switch. As someone who has played both games (but plays neither anymore) and has watched both as eSports a fair bit, I believe LoL deserves this success as it's a much more entertaining game to watch nowadays, both as a game and thanks to the much more vibrant NA and EU scenes it has.

Anyway, he was my favorite player, I"m sad to know that he wont be doing anymore crazy micro-based plays anymore : (. Oh well, at least we have MarinePrince (Maru; the next bonjwa) who has really good micro too!

It's sad that a player like MKP switches - but he won't be the only one, imo.

That quote says the opposite though. He says it's no longer just the rats leaving, implying that SC2 is dying, etc. But in reality, yeah, it's just "rats" leaving, that is, people who haven't had any result in ages - or never had any.
