The kespa team changes were announced, so the retirements and player cuts don't count as bad news anymore.
I think it's safe to say that Mekia's and Sora's signings are severely outweighed by the numerous retirements (bisu's and jangbi's hurting more than the rest) and/or the horrifying interviews (iloveoov's most notably) that have been released in the past few weeks.

This was to be expected and we'll probably see more Kespa retirements in a short time. If you want good news then look at the foreign SC2 scene. I am talking about their pride in regardless to not losing face. Right now we have two Korean teamleague (GSTL and SPL) that are both a shadow of their former self, because they insist in having a eSF league and a Kespa league.
If SPL was to start tomorrow we would have two teamleagues with 5 teams participating in each. There is currently 13 relevant Korean teams, of which 6 of them (Kespa teams) is rapidly downsizing, so it would make perfectly sense to ditch SPL and GSTL and make one relevant league, but this is not going to happen. Just look at how they handled WCS KR S2 in terms of dual-broadcasting.

Yeah it's powerful stuff. So I don't blame him for not returning after his military service.

Nah, he won't. LotV will still be around but with all the changes I wonder if they will still call it the GSL or if it's going to be something else.

Even if we were to merge them into one team league the numbers wouldn't dramatically get better and you're talking about old money. Several of these teams have been suffering even in the BW days (and it doesn't have anything to do with how well well business is going in competitive gaming-- they're sponsors after all and it's just marketing). Doesn't hurt when you have the government backing you either. Such investments are normally the first thing to go when your business is in trouble (once again we're not talking about competitive gaming). Right now as everyone knows they're restructuring. Their focus has always been on Korea rather than global presence and right now the money can be used else where. The feud between GOM and KeSPA goes way back. Sometimes it takes a while for things to patch up.
