Get a grip on yourself and be realistic.
Yes old BW players are retiring from starcraft 2, I am at least happy that they gave it a try and decided to stop. So be it. Good luck to them in the future. Starcraft 2 will continue no matter what! long live Warcraft III! I mean they still got a WCG spot right? Yes, final time this year I am sure Blizz want kill wc3, as they did in scbw. probably because wcg is in china this year they got final time. Didn't they say 2 years ago was their final wc3 year? They keep caving

You don't see (or don't want to see) the big picture in the background. What is there else to see? It already has been said that the starcraft 2 scene is over packed. Economic crisis is hitting every company. But still the starcraft 2 scene is not dying. If you can point me out what I overlooked that would be great ESports aren't running on a money, they are running on a passion. I can shake your hand on that ofcourse. But doing something for A LIVING, then pasion won't feed and pay bills for you. I was talking in an economical perspective Do you think Mini or Movie, for example, were earning more when they were playing BW? I honestly doubt it was the deciding factor.

All these players have a bright future and all the sudden... this... oh well, good luck to all.

It sucks, but it's just the natural conclusion to the oversaturation. When Kespa switched, the amount of teams and player in Korea more than doubled - the ecosystem couldn't keep up. When this purge is done, things will be alive and well, but severely thinned out.

Things change. It's not like a lot of people didn't see it coming because they did even if STX Soul said that they would continue for another PL at the end of the final. Things like this are usually the first thing to be cut off.

That's a shame. Like I said in the other thread, these players should have no problems finding teams. Whether it be KeSPA or not. It's up to them if they want to continue playing.

While this is bad news overall, I gained a lot of respect for the coaches for pulling such a bold maneuver as joining another team league with a decapitated lineup. If they win GSTL, maybe they'll attract sponsors again.
But they won't win GSTL because Axiom-Acer is going to win :p

Wow. Wow. Wow. What? Wow. Sad.
Perhaps Mini really is gonna go join the SSL crew and it really was him people were playing against the last few days.

Fucking Hyvaa better not be retiring too. Sound and Jangbi, and possibly Hyvaa? Kill me. TT

The worst of the economic crisis happened in 2008-2009. It's 2013. BW was still strong during the recession. What's happening to SC2 right now has nothing to do with the economy and more to do with a competitor (LoL) kicking its ass. See Yahoo vs Google and Blackberry vs Apple.

A dark day for SC2 and the RTS genre in general, though somewhat expected. Strategy games are just not the flavor of the recent years
No one could hope that 16+ professional Korean teams could stay afloat, not even BW in its heyday could support that, so some consolidation is in order (I expect more to come, alas - should be ~8 professional teams after all has been said and done, more or less). Here's hoping the Korean SC2 scene stabilizes on that level and that the next PL won't be the last (a merger with GSTL would be fine though).
