They got a contract with blizzard, got about 8 sc2 teams with good sponsors,sc2 is the second most viewed esport in korea etc.Don't get it twisted.OGN wants to broadcast sc2/What you see here is nothing less than petty frictions between ogn and gom.Nothing to do with sc2.If you wanna know how low korean televisions go when it comes to competition between them just watch some of khaldor older blogs on the topic of ogn-gom frictions. For example ogn and kespa didnt want their players to play in the gsl and esf player had to threaten to boycot the osl.Only then did kespa players were allowed in the gsl.Its the petty politics that are killing sc2 in korea not the game itself. I'm sure this contract you're speaking of also includes broadcasting this season, and yet they're not. How curious. I'd also like to see a source for "sc2 is the second most viewed esport in korea" although I doubt you can provide one.
No it actually doesnt. It only says that gom and ogn alternate in broadcasting wcs.
Yes it is the second most watched esoort. That is why it is on 2 televisions.Dota2 and wot are popular but not as popular as sc2.If they were they would be in sc2's place on gom and ogn which they are not .On gom wot has like 2k viewers for their wot competition and the dota2 scene is very small.Hence by logical deduction sc2 is the second most viewed esport.Unless you can provide me with a counterexample.

Good... the dual stream was awkward anyway.
They just need to get a unified team league going that alternates between OGN and GomTV like WCS does ( slight hope of something like that even happening with the recent kespa changes ) so there is always some starcraft on both OGN and gom.
edit: PS, source for the "2nd most popular esport" thing

GOM does not broadcast on television. Hence Blizzard having them supposedly work together with OGN.

Interesting ranking, thanks for substantiating the claim although it's interesting to note that StarCraft 2 was 4 spots lower on that list in the previous ranking.

I wonder if they rolled all the "craft" games into one if it would beat LoL...

In Korea? Very unlikely.
When Blizzard pulled the plug on professional BW, most of the fans went to other games (which I suspect is mostly LoL) rather than SC2, so both SC games lost quite a bit there.

look are we going to talk facts or are you going to ride the sc2 is dying parade? The contract between blizzard and gom and ogn only stipulates they will organize wcs korea one at a time and nothing else. And this was made clear in the innitial announcement. There is no stipulation ogn has to broadcast for gom when gom is producing the wcs.If you have a source I would be glad to see it.And if you wanna see how stuff works between gom and ogn in korea like I said just watch the khaldor videos on this topic. And the afreeca tv thingy doesn't mean anything.Afreeca is just a korean version of twitch.A lot of casual games get views there based on random factors such as launch hype, popularity of the broadcaster etc. There is no way in hell ION and karting are more popular than dota2.

my comments regarded mostly esports and their broadcast on tv.do not think ION and one between the fuzz can get many viewers on wither gom or ogn.sc2 can .But if it were after 12 o clock in the night and I would see something with thetitle one between the fuzz I might tune in.
