Hopefully with KeSPA pressure, LG will properly compensate IM... or even better, renew their sponsorship for real.
Seriously, at this moment in time, can you think of any other team in the world that deserves this sponsorship more than IM? Guys, do you remember how LG started supporting IM back in February of 2012? Then immediately afterwards, Mvp won GSL? Then straight after that, Seed won GSL? Then IM won IPL TAC 3? First took second at MLG Summer. YongHwa took second at HSC, then won WCG KR. IM placed second in IPTL... twice. First won IEM, then Mvp won IEM. Mvp placed second in GSL... making it his 6th finals! IM won the preliminary GSTL. HotS came out and IM took 1st-4th at IEM (YoDa, First, YongHwa, Mvp). Mvp won WCS EU. IM just won GSTL again!
How can you argue with results like those?

People weren't exactly praising KeSPA back in BW either, though, and I seem to recall reading that the Korean netizens aren't huge fans of the organisation either. Of course they're doing (and have been for a while) the scene a lot of good, but that doesn't mean people aren't allowed to call them out when they do stupid shit like they often do.

Wow, what a shame for a company as big a LG. Can't they be honorable when there is less money on the line then their CEO is probably getting in a week??

anyway, go kespa! eSF has no leverage. (Maybe IM got annoyed at eSF for foisting Tassadar on them and decided to run to KeSPA instead after that incident, hehhhh. ) You don't run to kespa. You have to have major corporation behind to join kespa which even stx and wjs is struggled now.

You guys come on, you all misunderstood the relationship!
LG wasn't sponsoring IM, IM was sponsoring LG!

Since LGIM is one of their big teams there, they kinda want to spread their protectorate. I thought IM's LoL team was pretty bad. Well, we know what this means: if IM doesn't get a good sponsor, and this entire thing falls through, they're gonna be cherry-picked by KeSPA once the trade-agreement ends. I think kespa would rather work with IM than take the players, they need more teams. Don't you need like a sizeable deposit to participate in PL? Even if KeSPA wants IM in PL, if IM doesn't have the money to make it there, then there's only so much KeSPA can do to pave the road. :/ It's a security deposit, to make sure teams don't drop mid season. It's possible that Kespa can change the rules if they really want more teams in PL. Do the teams get that deposit back at the end of the season? Yes, they get it back in full. :O
You learn something new every day! Thanks.

I meant "run to KeSPA" as in "complain to KeSPA, because they're much better at leveraging their position than eSF." The Tassadar comment was obviously a joke.

The question may be. What is a stupid thing? When they do something, you can call it a stupid thing. But for then it really is? In the long term, their decisions are stupid or good? In the end, their decisions make the games better or worse, make the players earn more or less money?
BTW, idk the answer.

How can you argue with results like those? not to belittle IM, which is a great team, but the results werent sufficient for LG's purposes. no one else's opinion really matters.

hmm if this gets all cleared up. see you IM at proleague :D
why else would Kespa get involve? right? :D

They are in LoL proleague for sure, but SC2 proleague who knows.

Now that they went public with this I guess big companies won't be as thrilled to sponsor starcraft teams in korea.

Um....Wow very surprising, I really hope that LG ends up paying IM which I am sure they will, as LG is a really big company, if they don't pay then this could be very bad for ESPORTS ... T_T

I think Kespa definitely has the power to make them pay damages, continuing sponsorship afterwards is an entirely different thing, I want to be positive but I doubt they will renew the sponsorship.
