Team sMi gets scammed - Page 19

It was a great opportunity to get better at coaching as well as to meet and learn from the other players on the main roster. Some of them were former teammates/friends and the others soon became friends. We were able to develop strong bonds that will stay past this incident. As it was detailed above, this guy scammed everyone including the players he brought on with the fake contracts as well as the former smi players who were on the team before the new roster was made.

Anderson Barrett was boosted to GM by myself and a few others. We boosted him for money split between 4 people. I paid the 3 others and was waiting for the money. However, Anderson informed he he didn't know how to use paypal, western union, and that his credit cards were blocked. He told me the best way to send me money was via prepaid gift cards.......those also turned out to be a scam. Then he told me the personal sponsor would send me money. This turned out to also be a scam. It became quite apparent that the fake Kelly Dawn was also Anderson.

Everything about this guy was sketchy. We were finally able to uncover the scam after a week on the team. Some of you might ask, why didnt we know from day 1? Well this guy had roots in sMi and friends who vouched for him. He also was great at making up excuses and delaying things, like the long post by DirtyBird explains.

Anyways, Its a sad day in esports but this isn't the first time a scam has been pulled and probably wont be the last. This was a good learning lesson for me and the rest of the players. DirtyBirD was nice to not include the other things that were said by Anderson. I'm currently team-less and having conversations with other teams. I will be making an announcement soon on new team.

its hard to follow when its all these names and stuff or is that just me. this stuff makes me think esports is not any closer to being legit though that could easily be the cause of the games more then the community
