It's called mandatory military service because everyone has to do it.

All the luck to you Best, you always seemed to me like someone who will be successfull at whatever you choose to do with your life I wonder what you mean by "meaningless game". Also Best isn't taking some different step career or life wise - he's joining the military like he's required to do. He may well come back to sc2 afterwards and be one of those coaches whom you deride so much. Most likely not.
I don't see him abandoning SKT, not in a million years. It's like I imagine oov will take up his coaching/management role when he gets out this year.
Best wasn't even doing all that badly in SC2. Yeah his record was only 5-3 and he didn't get sent out all that much, but from interviews it sounds like he's helped a lot of people in SKT in a lot of different ways.

He dedicated half of his life to BW not SC2. With being behind for 1.5 as much time as he has actually been playing SC2. I don't see him returning.

Going off of all of the people saying BW players don't like SC2 there are several components. For example, LoL plays a major role in that because it is currently extremely popular and fans flock to popular games, so it decrease motivation slightly and then on top of that the players who were monsters at brood war aren't having the same success because its like learning a new game for them, and it is very annoying to try and learn something else when you were so amazing at something else. So that decreases motivation. I think as soon as Flash wins a tournament the BW community and SC2 community are going to go ape shit thus causing an in increased motivation for the game. But the one major factor in all of this is that the BW monsters have to win one in Korea. If thy do that motivation and passion will creep in.

I'll always remember Bests PvP and...his final against July

It's not the same game sure, but it's the same team. The team that have basically been his family for the past x years. You don't just all of a sudden leave that behind. He's like everyones older brother in that house haha

I wish I knew more about the Broodwar players, someone should make a video that catches people up on what was what and who was who in the broodwar days

He had really good PvT and PvP and good stand toe to toe with Flash's macro game.

His two base arbiter play was always one of my favorite styles to watch. Wish him luck.
