Tbh I think it was the right decision.
I think he's good enough to get on a team like coL, Clarity, or the new team SMi now.
I used to watch his stream every day and all day until he stopped, but now I'm a LoL druggie. I still tune in once in a while though. He honestly deserves a position on a paying team.

hmm, I honestly think desrow can go to root.
|
hope desrow can find a good team, he is a really good player and a nice guy. hope he can keep losing weight, i know he can do it , he is my favorite streamer, DESROW FIGHTING!!!!!!!!!! PANDATOSS

I can't believe this many pages in a people are still defending such a pathetic excuse of a "joke" that admins felt worthy enough of a ban. Grow the fuck up.

I laughed at the joke to. He could have made it better though. I mean, that's why his name is desRow and not desSeat.

At some point desrow is going to have to retire, though, right? He isn't a young guy anymore by game standards, and he was never so successful that he could necessarily coach effectively; not to mention he has shown he doesn't exactly have the personality for it. I'm confused where he goes from here.

His stream is entertaining and he is definitely a class act. Good luck to him and to FXO.NA.

To the people arguing about weight, genetics does not play a role except in extremely rare cases where a gland isnt working properly. And even for them, thermodynamics still apply. Diet is everything, physical activity kind of matters but all put within the context of ones diet. To become of desrows size one must be in a big caloric surplus over several years. Of course the reasons for this are many and in the end its hard to blame someone for becoming fat, but it is entirely up to themselves to fix the issue.
Surprised by the move, I actually dont believe desrow has anything better going for him. I believe that he had issues with being on the team, to be honest. No... Energy conversion in biological system is way more complex than you think. Not everyone who consumes a bottle of coke will gain 150 calories. Not everyone who runs a mile will lose 300 calories. There are people who easily gain weight due to their genetic make up, this is a simple fact. They have to work harder to lose weight. Yes, life is unfair and it is true that it is up to them to put in the extra effort to stay fit in the modern society of developed world. However, saying genetics only apply in extremely rare cases is entirely wrong. I have hypothyroid but its mostly lack of will but I've been trying for almost 2 years now. I'm pretty open about it on stream and since this thread took that direction I guess I can elaborate on my journey so far. Calling people names and looking down on others etc.. etc.. October to December 2011 In Canada 490 to 460 December to June 2012 In Korea 460 to 470 June to September 2012 In Canada 470 to 400 September to December 2012 In Poland 400 to 450 December to February 2013 In Canada 450 to 405 February to now Stagnating around 400 My lack of progress has been due to stress and lack of discipline but I'm dedicated more than ever to change. Keep up the good work. You can do it! Now only if he put half as much effort into fixing his attitude as he does with his weight problems he would become a great sc2 personality. Unfortunately he still seems to have a, well lack of a better term childish personality. Such as calling people names and looking down on others etc.. etc.. Having been his teammate in 2011, his attitude is far, far better than it was. I've watched his streams before and he seemed like a jerk... He used to "coach" the community and cast community replays or something like that, and he was just laughing at the guy's play. Was not impressed.

Total lack of results? Mid-level NA credentials? I'm not trying to be a jerk, I'm just wondering what you base that on when the world has so, so much raw talent and hunger out there.

I second this notion that entitlement is not the way we should go about things. Look at idra as a fine example of someone who was 'entitled" due to his past and received pay. Not only did he not provide results after the initial 6-9 months of sc2's release he completely fell off the map. Desrow has no real noteworthy results in his past and is just another "streamer" on twitch that is it. Players who perform well and provide results such as an innovation,MVP or Flash should be getting paid because they earned it. Desrow still has a long ways to go before he is placing high in any GSL or MLG to earn pay.

Desrow is far from entitled. You're talking about someone who flew half way around the world multiple times just to find good practice (Poland,Korea). You're talking about a guy who practices HARD everyday and built his fan base from the bottom up. I'm not even a big fan and I know this...
You say he's just a "streamer" which is damn right insulting. He's a player foremost and a streamer and personality second.
The problem is the sc2 scene isn't big enough for people who aren't at the very top to get paid well. So they do whatever they can (stream, coach etc).
People like you aren't hoping the scene grow with your negativity. NA will never have a chance if we shit on everyone.

As long as the viewers/ad revenue are supplementing his income he can probably continue to stream indefinitely even though his competitive results may be lacking. I mean, Destiny is not making a dent in either SC2 or LoL right now but he's still getting enough viewers to make some sort of living and I think that's all that counts for him.
Of course, desrow's numbers are nowhere near Destiny's. But he's still getting adequete numbers. We'll see if he can maintain that in another year or so..

good luck to desRow with his SC2 and personal goals!
