There are enough people who can't get enough of Idra acting like an asshole to keep him rolling in ad money i'm sure. You're not rolling in it at 3000-5000 viewers. Also while this may boost his viewers for the next week, his viewer numbers are only going down from this point, and if he over-expose himself by doing full-time stream they are just going to drop faster. When idra gets knocked out of wcs soon he will lose any relevance in the professional scene, and without more invites he will get little attention (and certainly won't qualify for anything). He may be able to become the new combatex, but that is not really what I would call a comfortable living. I would be surprised if he can sustain 2500 viewers 2 months from now.

They most certainly got the PG rating... On a serious note, if idra does quit playing I hope he will be a caster.

However, I say good riddance. During the early stages of starcraft 2 he basically turned entire races of people against each other by advocating imbalance. His attitude was poisonous to the community, and I completely don't understand ANYONE can become a fan of this guy. So who was it I was arguing with the other day, who claimed IdrA is "more charismatic than parting"? Well, check out where his "charisma" has gotten him.

Disagree. He is definetely worth a sin, or two. Like it or not, he is the US scene, he sales the product to young kids who get into Esports, in this modern day, when you can scream and be funny and you get thousands followers of your personality.

[Also, reading this thread, I'm surprised to see how many people equate Idra with EG, as though the team can't survive without him. It may be because I watch more tournaments than player streams, but Idra always struck me as an EG sideman who, like Incontrol, supports the community via his personality and community engagement.] If Idra continues as a player, I hope he fixes his attitude. He's a good player, and it would be fun to see him become relevant again. But he has to fight for his victories rather than feel entitled to them, and he needs to show his opponents and us (the audience) some respect.

I'm not Idra's biggest fan, but when I think of EG, Idra is one of the things that pop into my head first. So I'm not sure how I feel about this. Idra's probably had a bunch of warnings internally. They tried to help him and give him all the resources. The comments he recently made I'm sure were just part of the final straw to finally say he is being more of a negative than a positive to EG. They just really don't need Idra anymore and the baggage that he brings.
