In my eyes, there's Koreans that are twice as good as idra and do not get paid such a huge amount of money as idra was, some of then don't get paid at all, they are only able to eat because they live in a team house. Yet they keep playing day in day out and are grateful just for the opportunity. Idra on the other hand, getting paid more money than most professional Korean players, getting to live in a house that's incomparably bigger than your typical Korean team house, failed to improve at the game. He constantly kept complaining about how imbalanced the game is and how bad blizzard has fucked everything up while there would be zergs in the scene to prove that there's always a chance, no matter what. I think it's more of idra being ungrateful to the opportunities he gets than anything. And I feel that the choice by EG was the right one and with that they will be able to move forward as an organisation.
TL;DR - You get what you deserve for being an ungrateful brat.

It's been well known EG only kept him around because he was the only player that made EG even remotely relevant in SC2 and possibly gaming in general... But since Idra told the truth WHY he was kept around he gets fired? Heh

lol, calling idra a nobody... I bet my next salary on the fact that idra is more attractive to sponsors than mvp sniper, who did win the GSL at least once. He's so known - imagine CMStorm would sponsor him as they do with Polt. Everyone would be like "whoa, did you hear, idra is now going with CMStorm". But, when Sniper would leave his team, MVP, there would'nt be 10 pages in the comment section of the TL-announcement. Go listen to SotG #93, INcontrol can explain that way better than I can.

While Idra may have more publicity, it does not mean that such publicity is positive. I mean, if you want negative publicity, Com***EX is probably cheaper than Idra.

I agree, I really don't even know many people who have used EG and Idra in the same sentence except to talk about his results lately.
When you say EG, i think about Stephano, Thorzain and the really good Korean pick ups that are fighting it out in Proleauge.
I also think about Demu getting 10k+ viewers on stream pretty regularily.
Tbh, to me Idra hasn't been a relevant part of EG for some time now.

I am a bit surprised that Idra was let go because to me, he is one of EG's faces. Was he suspended before because of his attitude?

Respect to EG for making this call. I've not been their biggest fan, but this is the right call.
At the end of the day it's great to have personalities in the scene, but there have to be boundaries even for them. I've long felt IdrA has gotten away with far more than he should have, and it's nice to an example finally being set to say that it's NOT acceptable to behave in the way he so often does.
Must have been a hard decision for the management without a doubt, but it's definately the right one for their brand and for the scene in general. Progamers should be examples, and I don't think IdrA could be further from that standard if he tried a lot of the time unfortunately.
