Sorry, it's too awesome to let it pass. Man, can someone just put up a counter for how many times that joke has been used in this thread? I think we're nearly breaking a hundred :/
First time I've read it and I thought it was hilarious. Thank you megid

This is probably the dumbest thing EG has done to date, and that's really saying something. Idra was an entertainer, not really a player. In the same way that wrestling has those wrestlers that everyone loves to hate, starcraft has idra. To kick him because people hated him is stupid, he's an entertainer, just like geoff is.

I think the point was he was bragging about being paid for being a dick. That crossed the line.

It was specifically that he said he was paid to tell his fans they are a bunch of fucks.
As the title said, you can be BM to other players, you can say controversial things, but don't shit on the people that pay your bills.

What line? He was simply telling the truth.

This just seems like the straw that broke the camel's back. Months (years?) of no real results, and constantly being worried that he might say something incredibly stupid probably came to a head with this.
Plus, I hear he and Demuslim (who's stock seems to be rising) don't get along. It is probably a combination of things (and there are probably some we don't even know about).

you have to be triple H not doink the clown or mordecai

I don't think I'll ever understand the guy. He's gotta have some issues if he can't help but trash other people and be pissed off so much. I feel bad for him. I hope all turns out better for him in the future.
It looks like EG is trying to change things a bit. They have acquired more very skilled Korean players recently to add to their already stacked roster. And they have been weeding out weaker players ever since Axslav and Strifecro a while ago, Puma more recently, and now Idra. So they are getting and keeping only the best players they can (along with Incontrol for his own talents).
I'm willing to bet that Idra was grossly overpaid anyway. They get to save a lot of money and get rid of a weaker player by releasing him. EG will also prevent Idra related drama situations that are bound to arise by having him around.

I agree, I think it was the fact that he implied that EG was paying him to be a dick was the big deal. Everyone already knows that the persona he puts on is that of the 'badboy' so to speak, but he shouldn't have said that he gets paid specifically to be a dick. EG only paid him to play the game and tolerated his behavior as it did add to his draw with the ESports audience.

People want to see good games, every good player would stay in there and fight. Comebacks are possible and those matches are the best ones to watch...
Even if you are sure to lose with not chance for a comeback, go down in a blaze of glory! Now that would be showmanship! It's funny when people characterize Koreans as being "emotion-less" when their emotion is so clear in how they play the game. When MKP is mico'ing his last marine in a losing game, I know how much struggle he is putting up - and how much fight he has left in him.
Perhaps it's a cultural gap. Perhaps foreigners tend to need a rather overt display to read emotions. :S

Number of things. He said to caposh that he wished him cancer. Wrote that david kim should be raped by an tire iron. Posted on a forum that his fans are fucks. Refused to play his teammate Demuslim for weeks plus something we maybe dont know about. He never said his fans were fucks, he said the starcraft community in general was. He was mostly right. Yes because his fans aren't part of the community, or the community for that matter. If you use your brain he's obviously not talking about fans and all of the community. If you use yours, and read the quote and the context, you would realize he is talking ABOUT his fans. Who is pandaring or posing with BM to get exposure ? Idra Who are you watching ? Idra What was his point ? That the "community" followed people who entertain them instead of skill. And those are the fucks. So yes, it is about YOU and his fans. The delusion of the idra fans is amazing. Reading comprehension doesn't seem to be the strong suit of some of the Idra apologists. Some people just enjoy being treated like sh*t, I guess.

His comment was a big professional betrayal, and I can see why they released him. He's essentially saying, "yeah, I sit around and do what I want, talk shit, and those fools at EG are paying me for it. It's hilarious." You can't let that fly.

Been an IdrA fan since he won King of the Beta 2010, really sad to see him leave. I wouldn't be surprised if he quit at this point

Maybe but people preaching here they're high moral standards while being hypocrites are not the ones to tell him off.

He all-kills EG-TL in the finals of Proleague; SKT T1 vs EGTL you should have saved the 1. for a later one to bring some klimax into it. Idra would never change to a weaker race, he changed from T to Z cause it looked easier to him, and because we see foreigner struggling when playing T and winning against Koreans when playing P or Z, I assume he was right with his decision.
