For the people in the later posts speculating why he was removed for the team, it was speculated earlier it was due to one of his TL posts -
http://i.imgur.com/FgezXgU.jpg
Word for word quote -
"nope, you're all a bunch of fucks it just so happens i get paid to treat you like it. it's fucking awesome"
For EG, they probably couldn't allow Idra to say this (so EG is paying me a salary so I can go out and call people names). It's not the insults that is the issue - the issue was it linked EG's name to the insults, and so...
I'm probably wrong about this though.
(Original post on page 6)
Also, I personally don't believe it's anything to do with his performance. Losing 0-4 because of "throwing" a "winnable" game still isn't a reason why he was kicked IMO.
I just hope he takes time to find if he enjoys SC2 or not anymore. There's no point playing it if he doesn't enjoy it.

But I do hope he finds his love of the game, or finds some joy in something else, if you are constantly unhappy it usually means that you have some imbalance in your life. There is no reason for someone as intelligent and mechanically practiced as Idra not to get get better results AND be happy to be paid to play professional Starcraft. Hopefully he will re-prioritize and find his path. I hate this ****. You're the person IdrA was talking to and I'm finished with this thread and discussion you're all a bunch of fucks.

Wow. what a pussy answer. 2 paragraphs in there had nothing to do with Idra. Why not say straight up 'We dont like him anymore more and letting him go, because were scared of what people might think". O wait hes been doing the same things for 10 years and Starcraft 2 wouldn't be as big as it is without Greg.

You sure thats true? He wasnt in a major tournament since 2011 and even then he was once every few( a lot ) tournaments apart...
This " SC2 wouldnt be as big if not for Idra" is bullshit... What does it say about org. like MLG, IPL, GSL, NASL, DREAMHacks and all other organizations + teams?
Are you guys really that dumb?

The villain? IdrA moved away from "the villain" a long time ago. If anything, PartinG is the villain, the guy who still trash-talks everybody he plays, but is at that level where he can because he entertains with great games and results. IdrA doesn't.
so you can't see in your very own words why he is a villian. I'm not defending his actions. read my prior posts. I'm just trying to steer this thread away from super idra flame time, because that doesn't do any good for anybody. We know, a lot of people don't like him. He was the "villain" because he was so polarizing. You don't have to post results to be a personality. All you need to do is be relevant. Love him or hate him he was always in the discussion.

Man I'm kinda bummed out. On one hand I've always rooted for IdrA in my heart, but like most reveled in his worse moments too. EG will be fine but i wish the best for greg
|
Damn, that was unexpected. Seems to be the culmination of several years of attitude issues, as the comment Idra made about the community (while awful), isn't really bad enough to warrant immediate dismissal.
Good luck to Greg in the future, hope another team will pick him up soon.

He's not a 16 yrs old anymore, He should take responsibility for his actions, I completely support their decision.

Not hard to speculate why he was kicked. The Reddit kids called the sponsors. Why else would they release him over insults only marginally worse than in the past?
Reddit is a pox on society.

Sry but i just used your OWN words, i didnt make any assumtions. You said it yourself, god damn it. You said you enjoy an angry mob throwing torches at people you dont like. How the fuck does it not prove my point i said over 1 year ago and am still saying now. There is also a difference between "not supporting" somebody and actively bringing them down. If you dont support anyone because you dont like them, feel free to not open their stream or anything related to them, instead of grabbing your pitchforks because you enjoy drama so much. I m not defending a particular player i m against the witchhunting of the community itself as i said a million times. I would even defend players i dislike a lot if this occurs. And i dont give a fuck if a player cares about me as long as i m entertained. And i dont give a fuck about people not supporting players they dont like, but i give a fuck when people like you are just sharpening their pitchforks and hoping that the next witchhunt is happening soon. you keep looking for that gotcha! and it just isn't happening because you keep adding on these ridiculous generalizations that you think follow from my statements. - it doesn't prove your point because you don't have one other than that you think you've caught me being hypocritical, but it's not about not enjoying drama, it's about not supporting people who do nothing for the scene anymore except generate controversy. it's the exact same event horizon as destiny and it's the exact same reaction: shrug, should probably be gone, good luck in the future even though you aren't a very good human being, cy@. - how does an anonymous criticism bring idra down? he's said he doesn't give a shit about us lessers looking upon him. - EG and the greater community has voted idra off the island, but honestly he's probably not going anywhere for a while longer. you keep saying "witchhunt" as if you either don't understand the context of what a witch hunt actually is or you just flatly don't care about what certain players do, and it makes you fucking impossible to take seriously. - you don't know what I'm hoping, unless you were to say that you're done wasting my time. I already got that "gotcha" moment. And now your dont just shrug your shoulders because that is not what you said here and not what you said in the destiny/stephano thread. Because if you just shrug your shoulders and critize players than i m ok with it. But you are fine with people emailing sponsors to get rid of them, that is a whole different level. Idra did a lot for the scene, a lot more than you and i will ever do. And why would you care about controversy at all? As you said yourself you are just here to throw torches and enjoy the downfull of a "childish" man, wow now that helps the community a lot. We need more witchhunters and torch throwers, that is what makes the scene grow and stay healthy. What do you do besides creating controversy? Following that logic you should get rid of yourself from the scene.
yeah, because they're both toxic shitlords that frankly don't deserve to represent the scene on a pro level, because that's what they have the power to do - and what they both misuse - and what I don't have the power to do. you're conflating a very apparent personalized dislike with this ridiculous assertion that:
- my contributions are outweighed by ultimately meaningless banter on TL, even though I've sunk hundreds of dollars into GOM/MLG/IPL - taking a moral stand is always witchhunting, because inevitably somebody is affected negatively
the entire point of actioning both of those players is to actively legislate team decorum and passively legislate scene decorum, and guess what, that means their shit behavior is held accountable and their desires suffer, just like anyone else's is or would be. that's how this e-sports stuff works. that's how reality works.

well all im going to say is idrA pulled in the viewers, the steel series site when there was a code word for idrAs stream for discount on a mouse didnt work after about a day i would say, well while that ad ran i couldnt get my discount so made me feel this got battered interms of requests.
Im a big fan of this guy and im just hoping when the game clicks with him again because whenever i watch his ops are never outclassing him something goes wrong somewhere but the decision making and game sense is all there. Cant wait to see where he goes and the rebuilding of his career.

Well I feel a little sad for greg, but I guess his last statements were the last straw. All the best to him, in whatever he decides to do next.

Its 100% true. Without Idra the USA would have had zero presence in Korea at the start of SC2. Idra drove the USA's interest in esports.
There was TLO and Idra.
Without Idra a lot less people would have watched those early GSL and all SC2 would have been worse off.

so what's more childish, your shifting of blame from the person who acted poorly to everyone who isn't interested in bullshit, or people not being interested in bullshit?

idra is the man and i hope EG reacquires him after some sort of punishment period

Sad to see IdrA and EG split up. Hard to imagine one without the other. But I'm sure EG did what was in their own best interests. Good luck to both parties in the near future.
