Looks like heaps of fun and hopefully more to come, it might make ladder mean more + help blizzard decide to help fix how many hackers there seems to be.

It can be a cool way to invite players but a lot of top level players don't spend much time on NA. I think that might be the point of this, to foster the NA scene and make new talent grow forth the best people need to be on that scene to make it grow

It seems as the idea behind it is to encourage competition on the NA ladder, which seems a good idea to me.

- the korean smurfs which routinely make top 16 GM, like anonymous. - the korean non-smurfs who own face, like cShuttle (I think he lives in NA though) - the European players who ladder on NA sometimes. Is Stephano going to be the Great American Hope (G.A.H.)? - Idra being allowed to compete, despite his venomous, rude behavior every single day on ladder, and in most tournaments he's in. (I USED to like the guy mind you) - the map hackers who sometimes make top 16- saw Grubby play against one recently on EU, top GM, extremely obvious about it with horrible micro. If you can take care of that stuff (maybe minus the Idra point, I guess he's popular or whatever), I'm really looking forward to it!

I mean, will Polt be allowed to play (he must have only a student visa) ? And DemusliM ? I don't think he has a green card...

Neither are Permanent Residents or Citizens in the legal sense. TB said during the stream hijack of WSC NA that DeMu has documentation to make him a US resident or something? As he is not on a working VISA nor is he a student?

From the op: Participants are required to produce proof of citizenship or permanent residency in either North or South America. So no EU or KR players (outside of the continent at least). Hackers may be a concern but so is it for most online tournaments. I'm sure they try their best to make sure no one of the players are a known hackers at least.

If you have time to dig it up from a show/interview he has been, feel free.

To clarify a point some of you are bringing up : Eligibility is dependent on the player having either citizenship or a permanent residency card (green card or equivalent) for any North America or South America country.
