The TV show was either recorded some time before it aired or at least a little bit staged.

I am more or less referring to the answers to this thread "oh she makes soap go for it JD". Not the obvious reasons to date women.

Asian culture, or East Asian in this particular case, is indeed "different or whatever." A woman making soup for her man after a long days work has a prevalent, albeit conservative meaning in China. Regardless, I'm pretty sure not every straight man has soup-making near the top of his criteria for a suitable mate; but I'd rather be with a girl who wants to make me soup and give me a massage on the shoulders than coming home exhausted and having them fight me over the TV remote because American Idol is on, or yapyapyap the dishes from this morning still aren't washed.

This, so much. ._. Let's just say I'm not all too keen on the attitude that so many western girls tend to adopt towards a relationship/their partner.

It isn't that different. Even in US culture we have the saying "the way to a man's heart is through his stomach". I have a hard time believing anyone who's surfing TL would look at hot soup and shoulder massage from a model after a day of playing video games as anything other than a pretty good time (except those of us who are married, castrated, married and castrated, allergic to soup, allergic to warm things, have phobias of women, have phobias of soup or have phobias of being married and castrated by a woman with soup). I do, however, believe that some people have difficulty precisely expressing sentiments that are obvious, and that other people will go out of their way to misinterpret those people just so they have something to get worked up about. On an unrelated note, I am appalled that this model wants to turn JD into soup, and even more appalled that you all seem to want him to go along with it. Have you ever seen a man get turned into soup?!?!?! I have. That's not something I'd wish on any man... even if he probably is tasty.

Who is the hell is nowadays still believing that asians have yellow skin? The yellow skin thing is a prejudice which comes from western racism like 200 years ago. In particular some chinese emperors always wore yellow clothes but this had noting to do with their skin.
