Where foreigners ended in large tournaments were much more to do with what Koreans you hit than your skill-level. I would love to see a somewhat accurate picture of the NA scene. Is Minigun or Illusion the best? What about Demuslim? How does Idra stack up, is he even top8 when it comes to the NA scene? Also GM means very little because ladder is a terrible indicator of skill. Not that it matters. Any of them will get slaughtered by EU players, let alone Koreans.

NASL should be fine regardless of not being sponsored by WCS because it functioned well as an independent tournament. Iron Squid also attracted a ton of viewers and respect.

Only WCS events are locked.

Yes. Still important to remember:
Thomas Kilian @Khaldor 26s "Other tournament free to operate outside the system." - Probably one of the most important key messages. Everybody happy now? :-)
China hasn't been that active with the rest of the world when it comes to Starcraft 2.

Basically OGN and GOM will have english casts of Code S/OSL going on simultaneously. We're still digesting it too.

i know it is, i was just using it as an example
what's the point of inter-region battles, when koreans are just going to dominate? all this is is blizzard putting a ban on koreans to participate in US/EU major tournaments so those in US/EU can actually win some prize money
edit: i know it's not really a ban, but essentially they're making it so that koreans have to fully commit to playing overseas in order to play in US/EU major tournies

Who cares about China? they are isolationist. No free market, no humanatarian rights, no SC2 for you.
Edit: @ to 2

So, now there won't be koreans in NA/EU tournaments anymore, except those koreans who will chose to get locked there for a whole year? Sorry, but I'm not gonna watch it.

TeamLiquid @TeamLiquidnet 48s
Players can can pick what region they want to play in. Not nationality restricted. But they are locked into the region they select.
Totalbiscuit @Totalbiscuit 1m
What's gonna be ridiculous is if Koreans try to play in the American/European leagues online because it's an easier field

Yeah, people don't understand that MLG and IEM are RUNNING the WCS. MLG events and EIM events are still going on.

I wonder if Hyun/Revival will play the EU or NA WCS series. I would if I was them.
