You are right, but he also admits that - in his point of view - his lack of motivation and therefore lack of effort was the only factor that kept him from being a top player, since - apparently to him - his talent was out of question. There are plenty of people who try to - at least partially - blame their lack of success to factors that were out of their control, personal issues and whatnot. It is refreshing to see somebody who takes the blame solely on himself.

It's as if he made a very controversial statement and instead of backing it up with actions he conveniently finds better opportunities. It's as if he insulted a whole lot of people. It's as if he referred to his fans that disagreed as "nobodies". I seriously don't understand how people think Cloud is a saint in this regard. He had some rather unsavory opinions and pissed a lot of people off. He won't be missed by some, he will be missed by others. Can't always please everyone especially with the attitude he had.

When you say you failed to become passionate about the game, you're deflecting the issue onto the game, at least partially. :p Or am I completely wrong? Anyway good luck in whatever you do, Cloud. I wasn't really a fan in any way imagineable, and the negative posts in this thread shouldn't really come as a surprise to anyone, but live and let live I guess. ![]()

Possibly but it's a very common perception among top players. If you don't think you have it in you to be better than your competition then it would make the whole thing kind of pointless.

I wouldn't be surprised if his team wanted to cut his pay and so now he is retiring at this "odd time". has he won any major events or ? i've never heard of him. 1 "foreigner" has been a recognized world champion at starcraft. guilliame patry... he moved to korea learned to speak korean and assimilated himself into the culture. would u ever hope to be the best basketball player in the world without learning how to speak english and never playing 1 game in the NCAA or NBA? same applies to Starcraft and Korea... and speaking Korean. the brutal truth is this... assimilate urself into the korean culture or fail... its that simple. its no different for any Basketball player living outside the USA or any hockey player living outside of North America. As a general rule, foreign Terrans suck. He was teamless, I would say it was his own choice to stop. ClouD was better at BW than WoL, you must have seen him on the forums though? and wtf are you talkinga bout with your assimilation of culture rant? o.0
