I wonder how much HOTS Flash (other Kespa guys) will actually play before this, he said he hadn't played any really in his code A interview and with traveling to MLG after release I doubt he will get a lot of time.
well he can now, after (finaly finaly) his arrivial in code s, no big need to play wol any longer, except for his 1 game in prolegue...

Would love to see HotS Polt take on the best WoL Zerg currently. Him and Creator should be a fun rematch too if Creator gets to practice with HotS some more. He pretty much did five out of six cheeses in the series he lost to Polt
As one of the people who "bitched" about no open bracket, isn't every MLG bracket pretty much stacked? We always end up with an amazing championship bracket and lots of great players playing, with usually a few people greatly exceeding expectations.
That said, this should be a good event, just wish it had an open bracket too. I also think we're going to see some really short games meaning Zerg will greatly under perform at this event, and Terran will dominate. Will be fun.
Huge amount of skill, garnished with a few foreigners. I expect that none of them reaches the Ro8. This tournament will certainly show aspects of the game which may be imbalanced, helping to make Blizz the game better for all of us.
9.5/10 for MLG, awesome start for hots indeed!
edit: same words used multiple times, sounded retarded
I dont think it means much to have very talented players like Flash, Life, Rain, herO in this tournament if they havent gotten any time practicing HotS yet. Some foreigner who has spent hundreds of ours of HotS streaming will probably take it.
Props to MLG for going single elimination bo5 and streaming all the matches, that's how you build hype from A to Z. With double-elimination, there are just way too many matches, in bo3, and most of them are not streamed and not that important in the early rounds. And it's harder to follow, and the rules for the grand final are always weird. Plus it takes more time and watching a sc2 event consumes enough time already. Now with single elimination all the players will start from 0 and will have to win 3 maps, that's fair.

No way. The foreigners will get slaughtered with basic pressure when they show they have more experience in HotS. No amount of streaming is gonna save you when you play against somebody who has better mechanics and game sense.

For me, I'm actually even more hyped for herO. He's never been to a major foreign tournament before IIRC, yet he has one of the best winrates in PL (gotten me so many FPL points). I want to see how he does.

He should win with his mechanics alone. But I'm slightly worried, with the beta now closed and having to play in Ro24 code A andhis PL schedule he could get caught off guard a lot by HotS strategies, I'm assuming he is going to study what little vods of HotS matches are available at least. But if I was Bly I'd come out swinging with some cheesy as fuck brand new HotS strats.

I can see flash trying to go for a macro game with Bio/tank. And Bly will build Vipers and take the games. Flash is not the type that likes to copy, so I assume he will do WoL fundamental training, which doesn't work against Zerg once they hit hive or Protoss right from the start.
