Just because Flo doesn't bring home MLG championships every season doesn't mean that she doesn't deserve a sponsor nor does she deserve to be bm'd. I'm a Flo fan, I'm also a ForGG fan, a Bomber fan, an Illusion fan, and I don't see any of them bringing in tournament trophies every other month. You can try to justify your hating all you want, but it's still hating. If you feel like you're better than "X", then why don't you go make a name for yourself and quit bitching on forums? | ||

It's great that females are playing the game and joining teams. You know what? It might encourage more females to become interested in the game. This is only a positive thing. What I really hate is the double standard. You don't see people making the same ridiculous comments every time a foreigner joins a team or gets a sponsorship. Let's take a look at some popular foreigners: TLO, Grubby, HuK, IdrA, Demuslim...You can add any foreigner you choose to the list (maybe with the exception of Stephano, maybe Major? However this is a whole different topic of discussion). Guess what? They are ALL absolutely horrible when compared to legitimate top tier players. Not even close. They just straight up suck. Yet according to the people constantly complaining about female players, Nepotism is rife when a female joins a team or receive sponsorship, but when it happens to a male foreigner we exist in a perfect Utopian meritocracy where these foreigners are completely deserving of their team and sponsor purely based on their talent at the game alone. It has nothing to do with the fact they are foreigners at all...right? | ||

I kind of agree with you (your opinion), but this is a weak argument. Even though they are just foreign progamers, they are within the 0,2% (not sure) of the worlds best players. I don't actually know how good Flo is, but from reading this thread she is masters (which is like the best 4% of players worldwide I think). Why would you take the huge risk and the enormous amount of effort to reach the top, if a mediocre player gets sponsorships in the end. Let's not kid ourselves, sponsors for SC2 are limited... I just want to clarify that I'm happy for Flo for receiving the sponsorship and it's not like she's getting a huge paycheck from them, so I think people make too much drama about this. | ||
