There was a thread on TL a while back introducing the girls of Starcraft 2, many of whom didn't have a sponsor. Simply being a girl who plays at a decent level isn't enough.
Yes, it has something to do with her being a girl, like it has something to do with being a foreigner, her popularity in the community, her personality, the way she looks - that's right, because they're sponsoring her, all of her, not just her genitalia.
There are men who haven't been competitively relevant since Brood War continuing to rake in sponsor money/team salaries because of who they are, their image and their personality. Too many people are trying to simplify this into a question of gender when that ignores all the other factors. Even if the next chair went to Mia Rose it still wouldn't be just because she was female.
Jeeeeeeeeeeez, Flo hasn't taken your sponsorship, even if you're in GM league, you don't deserve it more. I mean, come on, if totalbiscuit, with that beard and hat combination can get as many viewers as he does in gold league, then so can you. Then you'll get your chair.

Regardless those seats are super legit, not only do I need some bucket seats for my car, but now I gotta save up for some sick gaming seats. Sometimes life isn't fair. My favorite is the white and blue one though :3

This hits the nail on the head. There are countless examples of players getting sponsorships for reasons that have nothing to do with skill (personality, being a foreigner, etc.), but for some reason it seems that females get primarily singled out when they end up getting sponsorships/popularity. What a stupid double standard that's an embarrassment to this community.
