Today you brought your team the victory with three kills.
First off, I want to apologize for my unprofessional mistake that I made during the match against Woongjin Stars. I was contemplating over that fiasco severely and I also worried about how I was going to repair my image. I think I was able to redeem myself somewhat with my three kills today.
Why were you late?
The day before the match, I practiced until 5:00am and then went to to bed at 6:00. I wanted to be ready for the match so I left before all the other teammates. I got in a taxi and fell asleep and when I woke up,I saw that the bill came out to be the same as the bill that would have been if I had arrived at YongSan, but then I noticed that I was still at ShinDoRim. I hadn't anticipated a traffic jam. I got even more flustered because my teammates arrived quicker than I did even though I left first.
You were in a critical situation in game four because of the early game zealot pressure.
I didn't even think such an attack would come my way. As soon as I saw those zealots I thought that I had lost. But I told myself that I should at least try to block it and I think I got lucky cause Jaehoon sunbae made a mistake.
For game five, you went for a phoenix build against the Terran.
I was able to find out that my opponent went for a gas build. I feel like Bifrost is a map where Terrans especially like to go for the cloak banshee build into expansion so in order to get in the way of that, I decided to utilize phoenixes.
Even in your game against BaBy, you were behind.
BaBy had a smaller army than I expected him to have. When I successfully got off my storms during that engagement in the middle of the map I felt like I was going to win. I thought about my build order before the game began. Normally, players opt to go for blink stalkers so that they can prevent medivacs from dropping but STX's coach Choi told me that that build order is not good so I decided to use high templars instead.
Seems like EG-TL is playing very sluggishly for round two.
I'm not really sure of the reason why. I think it's because we don't really have players to practice against. If you exclude the players that get sent out, there really aren't that many practice partners. I think that's a big issue.
In ShinDoRim, you are showing a very solid form with a 8-2 record.
Nothing's really changed. But for YongSan, that is a place that I've always wanted to participate in Proleague since the BW days. But it's true that I get more nervous than people think I do. But ShinDoRim is a place that I come to often for individual leagues so I don't get nervous there.
Anything else you would like to say?
I want to thank our sponsors Twitch.tv, RAZER, and Barracuda Networks. I want to thank supervisor Hwanni and coach Park for believing in me when they sent me out. I also want to thank my teammates and the fans for cheering me on. Lastly, I want to once again apologize for my unprofessional mistake during the Woongjin match and state that I am going to work hard so that I can make sure I never repeat that kind of mistake ever again.

Even tho the Woongjin thing hurt my FPL team, I understand him, he always seems like such a hard worker and a honest guy, seems like all the late night practice paned off big time. HERO Fighting !!!
Also, thanks Seeker for your amazingly quick and awesome translations!

Better stay away from our HerO

Interesting point about EG-TL not really having enough practice partners.. Wonder if it would help to ship more foreigners in there to be utilized as some sort of punching bags.
Lol at him getting more nervous than people think; I absolutely do think he looks nervous as hell most of the times he plays

thanks for the fast interview Seeker!

HerO really stepping up in place of taeja. :3
|
What a sick photo. <3
And I guess JYP fell asleep in the taxi as well? HerO tweeted he shared the taxi with him. Oh well. All good now, and I hope TaeJa will be back as well. Then EG-TL can finally rock it with HerO/TaeJa/Stephano/Jaedong.
Thanks for the speedy translation!

good job HerO! bad pic of you though

lack of practice partners... is Kespa preventing other teams from practicing with EG-TL? :o... conspiracy.
congrats hero and dont worry about the match vs WJS, that kind of stuff sucks but its life.

congrats hero and dont worry about the match vs WJS, that kind of stuff sucks but its life. I wouldn't delve into it like that.
Likely it's just because they're less players on the team as a whole, so they don't have as many players to practice with.
|
Handsome wins there HerO, hope you guys get some more people to practice with.

other teams practice for SPL format many years, and they have A teamers,B teamers, online partners,EGTL just lack of members and less experienced

Traffic jam or taxi driving looping sleeping customer around for long periods of time for dem monies? I wonder. Gotta say, HerO looks like a beast in this picture. If i never knew the guy, i'd be scared to look at him :D

|
It's interesting to see how Hero considers being stuck in a traffic jam as his own fault, at least in these public statements.
|
Hm, the lack of practice partners statement is pretty interesting. I wonder if being a "foreign" team has anything to do with it? Or if it's just because EG-TL is such a small team? It seems that the players don't have issues with practicing for the GSL (other than the problems Slayers and other "black-listed" teams had). I assume the difference is that other ESF players don't really have any incentive to help them practice on the Kespa maps (other than Neo Planet S).
Also, for anyone who understands South Korean geography better than I do, his statement on why he was late is a little confusing. Did he go to the Shin Do Rim studio by accident? Or is the Shin Do Rim studio just in between the EG-TL house and the Yong San studio? How did his teammates all get there before he did if he left first?
|
Good job HerO. Thanks for the interview.

When in doubt about traffic, go early. It was his fault (in my opinion), others may disagree

Looking at how the sentence is phrased, I think he means that they don't have practice partners inside the team other than the players who will have to play in PL.
Kespa teams have dedicated, lower ranked, players who are there just to grind games against those who have to play in a specific match-up in proleague. EG-TL doesn't have that considering the size of their roster.

Then you call their company and he gets a big warning or gets fired. When they do that it's like cheesing - they're coin flipping, hoping you are unaware of their strategy, but if you know it they're screwed big time.

Doesn't work quite as well in some Asian countries, I know in China taxi company works sort of like mafia.

Thanks for translation Seeker! Glad to see him do well after his DQ last week :-/ Strange that they don't have enough practice partners...Do both Kespa and ESF not practice with them or what?

Yea leave early still get owned by traffic that sucks.
|
Oh HerO is so awesome <3. Thanks for translating Seeker!

I'm so happy HerO proved himself last night. I've been hoping for EG-TL to perform better but injured players and lack of practice partners are getting in the way. Glad to see them still pulling through, though.

If he left earlier than his teammates, why was he still stuck in traffic but they got to the studio on time?

I did. All it says is that he "didn't anticipate a traffic jam". So how did his team mates get there on time?

Because shit happens, basicly.

Is the STX vs Woongjin Stars interview coming soon? Sorry to be pushy, I am excited to see what Zero has to say!

2choices
1. The traffic jam happened right before he took the taxi and was stuck straight in the middle. Other team members transport knew this and went around it and avoided it so they came earlier.
2. Taxi driver was a dick, noticed people fell asleep and drove around to increase the bill.

yes, why would they? the teams play each other every 3 weeks or so and you don't want to allow other teams to get used to your style.

Strange...

Do you think kespa teams practice each other then? Because thats the key question.
