Ever since your debut nine years ago, you have finally secured a starter all kill.

I feel really good. Up till now, the best record I had ever achieved in Proleague was a three kill back in BW. But I told myself that I should try to grab an all kill at least once during my pro gaming career. After I grabbed the victory for game three, I reset my mind as if I was preparing for game one for the final game. I'm glad I was able to achieve this record.

You shone today with your strategies.

My focus was on game one. I even changed my build order many times. I told myself that I should go for a strategic build order for game two. Luck followed me for the rest of my games. For game four, I was conscious of what pathways were available so I was pondering moving out or not but then I also found fortune when my opponent moved out first.

It is hard for Protosses to win on the map, Arkanoid.

It is true that Arkanoid is a troublesome map. You don't even know what your opponent is doing so often, your build orders get crossed over. Which is why for today's game, I just told myself to do what I need to do and just be done with it.

Tell us the secret behind your all kill.

Whenever I participate in an all kill format match, I always have a tendency to lower my guard once I start stacking up the wins. I would always think to myself, "even if I lose, my teammates will take care of things for me." For today's match, my hubaes (younger people) requested that I dominate because Protoss is OP. The biggest factor to my victory was that I did not let my guard down.

Is it safe to say that you've been resurrected?

I always try my best but results never turned out the way I wanted it to. There were a lot of times where I disappointed my fans. Personally, I was having a hard time with all this but I think I'll be able to show a much better form from here on out because of today's match results.

Woongjin Stars has risen to #1.

For this year, the Proleague season is going to last one year and not six months. In the past, if we rode a roller coaster (he's talking about their results, not an actual roller coaster) then we would start doing bad from season two. This time, we're kicking things off from round two so my mind is at peace. As the team's captain, I feel like we'll be able to safely finish off the season well. The remaining rounds will be most important.

On Saturday, you will face EG-TL.

Their roster is full of great players. I think the games are going to be really fun regardless of who I face. Honestly, I would like to face a Zerg player. Mainly because I haven't really faced many of their players through this league.

Did you feel any pressure from being the starter because of the fact that Woonjin was on a winning streak?

The team's atmosphere was so good that I got nervous a lot. I wanted to show my best form for my teammates.

What do you want to treat your teammates to?

I want to buy them whatever they want to eat. I was originally planning on just buying them some beef but I had no idea I was going to achieve an all kill. They said no thank you at first but after I got an all kill they came up to me and said they changed their mind and that they want the beef. That took me by surprise.

After you achieved your all kill the coaching staff rejoiced.

Even though my results were not the best the coaching staff and supervisor Lee never stopped believing in me. I always told myself that if I get sent out, I should make sure that I don't get knocked out easily. Since I grabbed an all kill today, the coaching staff was really happy. If they continue to send me out as the starter from here on out then I will keep showing a great form.

Anything else you would like to say?

As we were preparing for today's match, the dongsaengs (young'uns) really did a job well done. It was imperative that we came up with great build orders so they were forced to stay awake late in to the morning even though they had headaches. I am going to treat them to something yummy so I hope the young'uns can overcome the older players on the team and make their way to the top.

Kinda sad that he beat Flash but the fact that free's revitalized makes up for it. He also has some amazingly encouraging words for his younger teammates.
"I don't like the word prodigy at all. To me prodigy sounds like a person who was 'gifted' all these things rather than a person who earned all these talents by hard training... I must train harder to reach my goal." - Flash

free on my main fantasy team, but KT is one of my favorite teams, hmm...

Still, always glad to see people happy after a good performance.

(Also, what's the difference between hubaes and dongsaengs?)

Dongsaeng is someone of younger age, hubae is someone of less experience in respective field: school, job, etc.

Thanks for sorting that out! I guess the terms are often interchangeable?

man, free beast moding. thanks for the fast translation seeker! damn, i'm so mad i have baby on my fantasy team when i could've had any of these other players >.< but i'm not doing terribly with hydra, fantasy, and speed so =P

and @ctesias, i think dongsaeng is used more in a familiar term (for both male/female), like you use it to refer to your younger siblings, where as hubae is more of a formal term, something you would use to refer to your co workers who are newer. and to further your education, Hyung is how a male call an older brother (but also used as a familiar term), and girls call them oppa's. i think for guys to call an older sister (familiar female) is noona, and girls call older sisters unni's. This is just from hanging out with korean friends in ktown =P

I now have autographs of both BoxeR and NaDa. I can die happy. Lim Yo Hwan and Lee Yun Yeol FIGHTING forever!

often times it is, however a older person can be hubae and younger person sunbae, in professions like acting or singing, etc. where age doesnt determine when they start unlike schools.

I've seen this "buying beef/meat" being mentioned many times in interviews. Can someone please tell me what is the significance of this in Korea culture?

It's an euphemism for anal sex.

Personally I thought it was because beef/meat is expensive but super delicious in Korea, and buying it for someone is a gesture of good will.

Edit: I must admit I don't know why just beef is considered such a good gift though, as opposed to other things. I guess it's because people like having a good time over dinner.

progamers don't have that much expendable income, but players get bonus' when they win so winning players are expected to take their teammates out for a treat

i'd assume it has to do with korean bbq. when referring to korean bbq, its usually samgyupsar, pork belly but beef costs more. instead of saying treat us to porkbelly, treat us to some beef.

its like, instead of buying us a round of soju, buy us a round of johnny walker blue, not to that exaggeration but its emphasizing the demand for better than usual treatment.

when theres a mean for celebration, the main person usually "shoots"; takes care of the bill, hence buy us beef (cost more), not pork (cost less).

Out of all the players to potentially AK my favorite team Free is the one I mind the least. Freaking BW legend I expected to retire soon into SC2, now outpreforming his BW PL days. Can't complain about that.

Beef is very expensive in Korea, Korean beef. Imported beef from other countries are cheaper though.
