See the response from FXO Show nested quote +Desrow has good streaming numbers/volume the more he streams the less pressure it puts on my korean players to stream when they can be practising to hit quotas. its a pretty simple concept
As I told desrow, if his streaming numbers weren't what they are I would never consider him
Please read and comprehend my post before responding. I also stated that there are more popular/better players then desrow that also rage during game but doesn't get as much heat as he does. So when the guy posted "are you kidding me?", I go and defend desrow because he is blowing it out of proportion.

I think alot of desrow hate stems from his earlier days. I did personally hate him back then when he thought he was the shit and then he would lose(was funny)
but desrow has made considerable gains as a person, a streamer and a gamer, and I'd put money on the line, more than any of you have in the past year. You can make fun of him all you like if you beat him in bo7 but till then love the gamers in the community who stick to SC2. He couldve easily switched to LoL just like alot of pro's have.
So lets all be chill here and enjoy the show

FXO is kind of a top tier organisation and players joining should either have a big name or shown A LOT of potential during the latest weeks, if you want to invest in potential. Desrow doesnt fit any of these criteria and therefore FXO loses something that I would describe as prestige.
GL though. Have you been keeping track of FXO.NA? Desrow is more prestigious than most of their players, it's a team of up and comers. Not quite the same mentality as the FXO.KR squad, just helping to grow the little guys. The difference in the clantag is only a minor one and most people will still aknowledge that desrow is playing for the same organisation as Leenock and Gumiho do. It sure lifts Desrows status, but lowers it for the organisation itself. I agree. I have to question why FXO.NA decided to pick him up. Edit: After reading Seeker's post I still question why FXO.NA decided to pick Desrow up, but best of luck to both. If you still don't understand why we picked up desRow even after reading my post on page three then I really don't know what else more to say :/ Just trust us when I say that we are fully aware of what we are doing by investing in desRow.
Just confusion, not criticism . I am neither a fan nor an anti-fan of Desrow, so it seems unlikely he'll change my opinion of FXO.
Which is good! I love what the team does both in Korea and with their international teams, and FXOBoss seems like a big positive influence on our scene. So in case it wasn't clear... FXO fighting!

I watched a little bit of his stream today and he has slightly changed. Less trashtalk for sure. Still the same arogance. Also, there is a difference between talking shit from time to time for yourself when you are alone and continually talking shit (like continually, like 100% of the time he was streaming) when you wear a mic for all your viewers to see/hear. Back then, he left me with the impression he was playing starcraft so that he could have an opportunity to trasktalk on something/someone. Also made me feel like he enjoyed knowing people were listening to what he was saying. Back then, he was talking shit and was proud of it. He was even talking shit after games he won. Also made me feel like streaming was not about helping people but about letting his epeen grow. I have no idea how you could call that guy a nice guy.

You must have missed the part where I often say that I am bad at this game. Everyone is bad, only GSL/OSL winners aren't bad and that's very temporary. I'm just being objective. Of course sometimes there's a little bit of ego but I know that I suck. I let my viewers know as well and no I help people by analyzing my play and letting them ask questions and give suggestions.

I'd be careful with the trash talking, but he's been consistently improving. Hopefully with FXO he'll be able to break through and join among the top pros sometime in the near future.
Good luck to both parties!

Grats to Desrow, hoping he'll put up some good results this year!

If that's the case gl. Groan. You accidentally say one stupid thing in your anger and it sticks with you forever. Welcome to the professional world. You cannot say things like that or they absolutely tarnish your reputation. Pro gaming is a form of business and in the real world he might of gotten fired/sued. Luckily for him the Pro gaming is not a fully developed business and would not carry over into a real world job. Now I would not harp on him to much but I really doubt his attitude will change given he has been like this since release of the game. There are tons of "accidents" outside of the name calling that have tarnished his reputation. Just hope he doesn't remain as a black stain on FXO.NA roster.

But to be fair, they werent feeding him enough, anyone can see that that is a pretty huge deal for desRow
Gratz on the team though. Despite me finding it super odd that players at that level getting teams I wish him the best of luck, he seems like a nice guy. Lets just hope he improves beyond the semi high master play ive seen the last few days on his stream to an actual contender. Right now I dont see him taking a game of any of the more well known players in the scene.

This is a pretty poor defense. You start by claiming that you infact yourself think that you are "bad" at the game. Then you continue by claiming that most of the players are just that, putting you in the same group as them once again. Claiming that only GSL/OSL winners are not bad is just silly. You are a mediocre player at best. Id say Stephano, Naniwa, Scarlett, Nerchio, Thorzain etc are certinly to be considered very good players, most of them still struggle with the very top and you certinly are several tiers below that. You still certinly have potential and are better then 99% of the posters on this forum, myself included, but how and why you have gotten a contract with a team eludes me. It definatly does not have anything to do with your current skill.
If you deserve it or not, well, thats for someone else to judge. If people are entertained by your stream then fine, thats someway the only thing that really matters.

desRow put in over a thousand hours of streaming in 2012, and I've watched him for at least a few dozen of them. Though he has had his fair share of drama in the past, the entirety of the time I have seen him play he has been constructive, humorous and dedicated. The majority of naysayers in this thread so far have painted him to be a self-absorbed, drama-queen failure of a player. In truth he is a GM-level streamer with plenty of room for improvement who has made HUMAN mistakes. You mentioned NaNiwa in your post as someone who is 'several tiers above him', but did he did not probe rush NesTea once and label him an idiot? Hasn't Stephano failed to show up to a number of online tournament matches, and made sexual comments regarding minors? Where's the rage? Top-tier, admirable professionals, you say?

I never made a comment about desRows behaviour so I dont know what you are talking about. He tried to defend calling people bad by claiming that he on stream often called himself bad aswell. He then went on saying that everyone but the winners of GSL/OSLs are bad, this is what I commented on. I never claimed that his behaviour in any way is worse then that of the higher tier foreigners and I definatly from watching his stream would agree that he in general is very manner. But honestly, Naniwa isnt bm while streaming either, not from my limited experience.
Im not sure why you even brought this upp though, you write as if I had called desRow the badguy and claimed that stephano, naniwa etc are super awsome manner guys. Yes I mentioned Naniwa as being several tiers above desRow, he is, skillwise. desRow honestly isnt close to that of Nani and Stephano. Nani was rank 1 GM on EU last I watched him and he still won almost all games he got. 80ish % or so. desRow has the last few days been playing and losing to rank 15-10s on NA masters. I have hit that same level of players on ladder and im fucking awful. Im not saying im the same skill as desRow but simply being able to hit the same level of players as me, well, its not a good sign :D

I apologize for having misdirected my statement in several ways; it was more directed to the general population of desRow-haters I've seen in this thread than your specific post (though it did address part of your statement). Even as a once-GM in masters, it is normal to lose some matches- though I know for a fact desRow has been in Grandmaster in seasons' past; the main reason he was not in it in the recently-concluded season was a result of his move from Poland back to Canada. He was EU GM during his stay at the MoW and has defeated numerous mid-tier GMs in recent weeks. I think in saying all players are bad he rather meant that everyone makes mistakes and no game-play is perfect. I would agree that NaNiwa and Stephano are superior to him at the moment, but with the current level of dedication he has been showcasing (12 hours a day for the past two weeks) and with his recruitment on the FXO.NA roster (whose management have stated they want players to develop; the majority of his teammates are relative unknowns) he will eventually be able to best them, with time.

Especially when comparing desrow to other progamers that generally don't get the heat but are more popular. I'm a nice guy too, but sometimes I talk shit when I play games. Sounds familiar anyone? I let my viewers know as well ![](/mirror/smilies/smile.gif) and no I help people by analyzing my play and letting them ask questions and give suggestions. Just what came into my mind, after reading his post.
