With the recent departures of Kyeong Hyun 'SeleCT' Ryoo and Tim 'merz' Olsson from our Starcraft II squad, we were in need of some fresh blood in our ranks. Tonight we have finalized a deal with the Polish zerg player Łukasz 'Tefel' Czarnecki. The 24 year old has been performing on the highest European level for quite a while now and we are confident that with the help of our players and management he will improve even further.
As his first actions as a Team Dignitas player he will join his now-teammate KiLLeR at the Intel Extreme Masters stop in Singapore. Later this month he will also attend Multiplay i47. Please give Tefel a warm welcome and make sure to keep on eye out for him in future team games and online tournaments.

He placed 13-16th at an MLG, losing to Leenock, defeating Select and Ret, and losing to Alicia...hardly 'smashed', considering he defeated two pros which were considered to be far above his level at the time. Losing to Leenock and Alicia isn't something to be ashamed of either.

When as a progamer you see such an high profile team as Dignitas taking in bad players such as Tefel or Jonnyrecco just because the game is screwed at the moment over way better picks like Targa, Snute or somebody who actually deserves it there's not much else to think honestly.

We do not know any of the reasons for some picks.
Without having any insights I can not judge a decision -recco maybe was picked for his age and potential? maybe Snute was to expensive or TargA could not convince about his ambitions (pure speculations). How can I possibly know!
Then a progamer, whos word I trust in (Cloud) comes along and states a player who has been sitting in line and been around forever (Tefel) is not deserving to get a contract.
So I have to kindly remind about your responsibility.

Picking up any zerg at the moment is an interesting choice, and bound to generate some amount of contention. I haven't seen much of Tefel but I look forward to seeing what he can do.

According to obvious facts, NA server has lower skill lvl than EU and EU has lower than Korea, so i think that when someons from Eu is playing on NA client and gets smashed, as was mentioned earlier this ( not always ofc) could happen due to lag, delay and late night hours in EU. Not trying to offend anyone, but saying that EU lvl is worse than NA is a bit foolish, as most of GM top players are same in all non asian servers, as there rule Koreans. GL to Tefel and Team Dignitas hope to see them more!

I've seen Tefel take games off the top players in EU for some time now.
But at the same time I can't help but think that maybe Cloud has a point...

Whoever says Tefel is a patch zerg is largely misinformed. Tefel has been around since the beta, he's always been among the top zergs in Europe (maybe as an underdog, but still). It's not like he started winning due to the patch, he's always been there. Maybe you could argue that his success spiked during the patch, but then again, that's true for a lot of zerg players. All in all, he's not a new comer, and his skill should not be attributed to the race he plays.

Tefel is capable of doing really well in such an event... pretty sure if you could turn back time and would repeat the same tournament again and again there would often be a different winner and Tefel could be 1 of them

Woohoo. Same goes for Ourk. I'm not saying they're not good players, because they are, but as you said there are players who are more deserving even though it's hardly the Zerg player's fault that the next patch favors them somewhat.
Minus Ourk, he's a patch Zerg who never achieved much as Protoss pre-patch and yet suddenly he's like top 16 UK.
