Congratulations JYP for making it to the grand finals. Thank you for accepting this interview from s.163.com and MarsTV. Firstly, can you tell us your feelings after your win?
Thank you for your congratulations. This is my first time playing in the finals of WEM, and I'll have to prepare adequately for the games tomorrow. I'm really hoping to be the champion of WEM.
You lost 1-2 in the winner's bracket finals against Leenock. Why did you think you lost?
I became a little slack after winning the second game, and I didn't concentrate properly. I played really horribly in the third game, and so I lost.
It'll be a best of 5 tomorrow, and your opponent will be Leenock. As the winner of the loser's bracket, you'll be starting with a 0-1 deficit. Are you confident of winning the championship?
Starting off with a 0-1 deficit is slightly unfavourable for me, but I will still try my best in preparing. I really want to win the championship, and so I will try my utmost best.
If you manage to win this, it'll be your first championship win in a major tournament after you joined EG.
Yes, if I win this championship it'll be my first championship win in a major tournament, and so I'm really looking forward to it.
Are there any differences between a foreign team like EG and a korean team?
The Koreans mainly emphasize on the GSL and GSTL within the country. Even though the foreign teams do attach an importance to GSL and GSTL as well, I tend to also pay attention to foreign tournaments and gain overseas experience.
You previously lost in the up and downs of GSL. Do you have any plans?
As long as I can remain unbeaten in the Code A matches that are coming up, I will be able to return to Code S.
You've taken part in many foreign tournaments. Which is your favourite? Why?
I prefer MLG. That tournament is a traditional tournament for the United States, and I also take part in it all the time. There are many fans at the MLG live stage, and the cheers from the live audience makes the competition atmosphere very amazing, and to be able to play under such conditions makes me very excited.
In terms of ability, how does GSL compare with Kespa?
For Kespa, they have a very strong background, but GSL started playing ever since Starcraft 2 just started, and so GSL players will have more experience as compared to Kespa players.
Rain is a player who sprung up from Kespa. How would you evaluate the rise of Rain?
Because Rain is also a player who started from Starcraft 1, he is indeed really strong, within top 3 in terms of ability in Korea, and so I still think very highly of Rain.
Finally, can you say something to the fans in China?
The grand finals are tomorrow, and I am also very confident about winning the championship.
I also hope that the fans who didn't notice me in the past, or didn't know much about me, will be able to come watch my games. I will also try my best to show even more exciting games, and become the eventual champion!
