EG knows as well as they know his personality, hence it's the least backbone ever shown, to suspend a player due to troll emails regarding something you know wasn't serious.

Person working as a representative of company X makes a statement that reflects poorly on the organization as a whole. Person gets called out for it and suffers some consequences. Welcome to the professional world? EG is obviously a company that cares a great deal about its public image, and wants players to improve their image instead of tarnishing it. They were obviously smart enough to include clauses like this in Stephano's contract and you can bet they were always planning on exercising them when neccessary.
