Agreed - I barely got through mine with no other commitments. It's not the workload so much as the motivation - you have to be a real self-starter, as you are all but guaranteed to hit some serious roadblocks along the way, and it takes a lot of willpower to push through them. Progamers might actually be good at that side of it as they are no strangers to mental discipline, but I would think there would definitely be times when focusing on SC2 seemed way more appealing than continuing to beat your head against a wall.
Anyway, all the best to her on both the gaming career and study fronts.

Looks like a master's thesis, too long for a journal publication (though my background is biology, so i guess maths could be different).
Since Naniwa left Quantic I guess that freed up quite a bit of cash for recruiting new players  .

She wouldn't have been picked up if she wasn't an attractive girl, it's not misogynist to claim this at all. In fact I'd argue that it's more misogynistic to advocate that girls be given opportunities not open to their male equivalents. Especially given she is doing a PhD, you would have thought that would potentially cramp her potential to improve.

Are you kidding?.. Flo has gotten much better, especially since moving into the training facility. I witnessed her play at MLG last weekend, she's really grown a lot as a player.

My point was that you can either be mad at the seemingly unquenchable desire for attractive women by 18-24 males, or angry at maddelisk. That is how I interpreted the original statement that I quoted; either hate Quantic for pandering or something else in the "community".

I don't even hate Quantic if it's a move for exposure or whatever, however thus far they haven't really even utilised Flo in this capacity. If you're going to pander, at least give the recipient some exposure.

Incontrol has a 30% winrate, yet gets thousands of viewers when he streams and is one of the most recognizable people in esports. Machine is in a similar boat, but is pretty famous for his Kingston commercials.
You do understand this is a community of turbo nerds? You could be a chick in diamond and if you aren't obese you're going to get over 100+ viewers doing nothing. Hell, if you're Masters and female that's more rare than male and GM.

People give incontrol huge amounts of shit too - anyone with results that don't seem to justify their position in the scene gets hit.
