I know he won something major a while back but yeah, why? GOM will always give foreign players with good results a chance to participate in the GSL, its also good for theier viewer numbers, nothing strange about that. MaNa won Dreamhack tho, just under 2 months ago, he is most likely top5 foreign player in the world also. Ok so it was his recent win (I know about that system). MaNa is a beast among foreigners no doubt, I just didn't expect him, if anyone besides Stephano (who's already said he won't be participating in the GSL anytime soon) I'd expect Nerchio. I'll still be rooting for MaNa, he's a cool dude and hopefully he can smash some faces

Mana's group is really hard, bad draw ;;

I'm thinking at least one KESPA player. If I had to take a very wild stab in the dark for the other seed possibly alicia, could be nerchio but I don't know if he'd be interested in going to Korea. I think that GOM will wait until Summer championship before picking seeds. I think it could also be HerO if he place good (1st or 2nd) at MLG and then proceed to fail his U/D group.
GOM has never given a seed to a player that's already had a chance at Code S through up and downs. They usually decide their seeds long before up and down groups are finished.

For those who don't know, Seed, symbol, byun, nestea, Mc, Taeja, DRG and naniwa have already secured their spots in code S due to making the RO8 or higher last season.

I think it would be sensible to offer up a spot (or two) to someone who did well in WCS but didn't qualify for OSL. Avoid schedule overlap and continue to keep things interesting in the transition stage.
Otherwise I could see maybe Nerchio and Alicia being offered spots, but I don't see Nerchio taking one and I don't know if serial runner up quite cuts it.

Plus the 12 who qualifed straight from Code A - MMA, Mvp, Curious, Squirtle, MKP, JYP, Genius, Heart, Parting, Yoda, Leenock and Polt.
The current Code S racial makeup is 8T/5Z/7P, with 12 spots to be decided.

No way mana advances from that group, super brutal.
|
No crushing groups of death or anything for the foreigners. If they can't make it out of those groups frankly they don't belong in code S and I would not want to see them there.
|
Well he's gonna have to prove himself hardcore even before reaching code S. What a group oO I hope your PvT is ready, Mana!
|
I'll be cheering insanely hard for Mana! Best of fucking luck dude, you have a big fanbase cheering you on!!

jjakji, Bomber and Hyun's best match-up, by far, is vP.
Mana got screwed.
Creator got a cake walk besides Supernova.

a very promising Code S next season!!!

I remember him beating a string of Korean Terrans in a row. I Don't think he's had that kind of success for a while, but it's never been a weak point of his play, like his PVZ often is. He's up against some pretty damn good Terrans, although all of them are prone to ordinary play at times, apart from maybe jjakji, so wo knows.

Predictions: group A: mana and bomber (with all my foreigner bias) group B: gumiho, puzzle group C: maru will cheese his way out of it , hero group D: creator supernova group E: violet, ryung; hoping he will show another godlike series (like against drg, last season)
If i am correct, it will be another sad zerg gsl ):

No chance for Mana... No chance for ThroZaiN... At least i don't see any...

Ryung, Puzzle, and Bomber ALWAYS fucking get hard Up and Down groups.
fuuuuck.

group a , bomber +hyun group b, gumiho + puzzle group c, alive + maru group D, supernova + creator group e, violet+life
