Think before you post. This should go without saying, there are so many people making absolutely idiotic comments in this thread. If you have nothing constructive to say, please don't say anything. |

EG = money = buy everyone who is winning (Huk 2 Event wins-> bought) (Thorzain DH win -> bought (Stephano x-Wins -> bought) ( Puma 1st NASL -> bought)
Pretty amazing how much money they must have ^^

With all the newcommers to EG it wouldnt not surprise me if they start letting some of the older members go soon...

i like how so many people are surprised about the most obvious thing to happen in sc2 history since Nestea beat Inca in a GSL finals.
but i do gotta say my inner conspiracy theorist senses are tingling. remember what important people in the scene (don't remember who) said when naniwa left quantic? Naniwa's own statement was simply that both sides just decided this wasn't the right move for them anymore or something, but people were saying the reason is actually very different and rather surprising. maybe quantic decided to kick naniwa so that they can pick up stephano? would make sense both in the way that they might not be able to afford both at once, but also because they don't like each other so maybe stephano would've refused to join as long as nani is on the team.
that's probably bullshit though tbh. he's just gonna join EG, drink beers at the frathouse, still beat everybody and show that the 'EG curse' is a myth.

Well this was... expected.
Congrats to Stephano on scoring a big contract - hugely deserved.

Seriously? People in this thread is more biased than Hitler was vs jews, when it comes to EG. How can you take them for bad?
IdrA: Best player on the NA server, as well as a top tier player, capable of taking down people like MKP, NesTea, Genius and MMA.
Demuslim: Probably one of the best terrans outside korea. Another top player.
Thorzain: One of the best terrans outside korea, famous for beating down most of the koreans he have faced, as well as popularizing the mass orbital style,
HuK, THE best protoss outside korea, and experienced Code S player.
... I seriously don't get you guys. It's like the lemming effect all over again. None of you seems to display independent thoughts, you just pick up the generel openion, whatever it may be, as long as it don't violate the korean players are the best!!111!!111!1-fanboy-syndrome.

Why would they throw out their best player, who also happen to be the face of EG?
It would be like IM Throwing out NesTea or Mvp.

@IceThorN you should reformulate your post.

Frankly, it looks like the 'older' EG members turned into starcraft celebrities rather than toptier progamers that tear it up in tournaments. Hence the word 'talent' seems a bit off here.
To me it looks like many of the EG members fare on their fame rather than their skill. And maybe it works for them. Perhaps they can live from streaming games inside the EG house, living the awesome lifestyle, doing endorsements and stuff, appearing in online shows, casting a bit. That's the picture I have from EG. Somewhat similar to what Destiny does (he's more of a pro-streamer than a progamer, although him going to the MoW house may change that). BTW is HuK still alive?
It seems that EG has been looking to contract tournament-monsters lately, probably to give the team more presence in tournaments. In that regard I think Stephano is the gamer of their choice. InControl stated it many times, he would love to have Stephano on EG..
We'll see, it wouldn't surprise me.

You're making it seem like once you join EG you are given a pill that makes you lose all your abilities. If the player is losing, its because its their fault.

Name me one single EG player who's been doing better after joining than before. Name me one. I dare you.

They have sick protoss-players in JYP and HuK, awesome Terrans in Puma, Demuslim and Thorzain, and virtually no competetive Zergs, barring Suppy, who's still sort of dark-horsey, since he hasn't been in the picture for long.
No offense to Machine, who is certainly decent, but hasn't been able to show really impressive tournament results.
i appreciate your subtle way of doing this, but come on, idra is still much better than machine both in his play as well as results. obviously he's in a slump but he's nowhere near as bad as you're making him out to be.

Nope. Huk is bad now. Like really bad.

Just speculating here, but given what we know about the team philosophy of liquid, i.e. pick up the up-and-comers, it seems likely to me that TL wasn't interested.
