What do you expect them to call him?
Coach Boxer or maybe Coach Emperor or something like that?

Well you may expect a lot of things, but they won't all happen.

If you have ever heard Korean commentators in his legendary games, listen for "LIM YO HWAN!!!", Boxer is just his nick and more commonly used by foreign commentators. In other words, there is nothing here to be sad about.

“I am joining SKT T1 as a coach, and I will focus on improving our players' performance not as a player but as a member of the coaching staff. However, I always dreamt of showing the best matches as a player, and now I will help the players to achieve what I've only dreamt of."

Taken from his interview: http://esfiworld.com/news/boxer-i-will-help-players-achieve-what-ive-only-dreamt

Implies his retirement but he didn't specifically state he won't play anymore, or is it just due to translation? Man, I still cannot believe this...

Chinese SC2 website had "three" translated articles, including one interview, on BoxeR's move to SKT.

http://s.163.com/12/0816/15/891R5KB500314D0E.html
http://s.163.com/12/0817/13/8944MK1800314D0E.html
http://s.163.com/12/0817/14/8948NJF000314D0E.html

Summary of these articles
- BoxeR signed an one year contract with SKT as a Terran Assistant Coach
- BoxeR will be focusing on training Fantasy, also other Terran players like ssak and JYJ.
- BoxeR stated that his primary focus will be making Fantasy a champion.
- BoxeR said he will be focus on training up and coming players in the short term (so.. he might come back as a player in the future)
- In the interview, BoxeR said SKT had contacted him about this position for a while. He hesitated to return to his "home" due to his "previous mistake" (what mistake does he mean here?) and SlayerS.
- He believes that SlayerS will do fine without him, and he had made arrangements to take care the players before his leave.
- BoxeR stated in the interview that he was feeling "tired" in SlayerS and has lost ambitious for a while. Jessica suggested him to talk to SKT.

You sure BoxeR is joining SKT to coach? Or is SKT joining SlayerS to receive coaching?

Its better for the greater good. GSL teams will eventually (well except for IM) will eventually get assimilated by the Kespa teams. And thus GOM leagues will become the 2nd in hand in esport. Then when Blizzard comes gun blazing about destroying the new scene, Kespa will be the one defending it. And Sc2 have have legion of foreign fans, and cement a new age of Esport because esport shouldn't be determine by how 'dated' a game is. It should be about fans and passion and not a corporate grabbing machine.

Why except IM? Other teams live Startale, MVP, Prime etc all have a lot of good sponsors.

None of them can match the sponsors IM has. If all goes well towards the end of the year and LG becomes an indefinite sponsor, IM will actually join KeSPA.

Are you aware that Red Bull is sponsoring Startale?

LOL..Red Bull is not strong enough compares to LG, SAMSUM, KT, SKT.. and the most important thing is that Red Bull is not a Korean Company

SKT at least has significantly higher earnings. Not to mention the differences between what a title sponsor and regular sponsor provide is significantly different.

Reading the interview, there actually is some huge conflict in the SlayerS house since BoxeR said that's one of the reasons why he so tired and exhausted

Edit: also it said that it doesn't necessarily gonna mean he is going to retire permanently

Really interesting, it doesn't surprise me that there is some rumored conflict. Why else would he leave slayers to go somewhere else o_O SKT probably made an attractive offer.

He didn't retire.

He stopped playing in favor of coaching. Nowhere is it stated he is a player-coach like in SlayerS. Even when he was in SKT it was never stated he was a coach.

Retire: To leave one's job and cease to work, typically upon reaching a certain age.
He is leaving his job but he is taking a new one. He is not ceasing to work.

You don't understand anything... If you didn't get my reference in the first post, you might as well not even respond.

Is 4.5 bn a year not enough money? At what amount of money is it enough?
