I see this as his way of recovering. Since he can't actually play due to being injured, he can spend this time coaching another team, and return as a player to SlayerS when he is fully healed. This way he can earn money he otherwise would not have, and since SlayerS already has a amazing coaching staff, this works out for everyone.

In the interview mentioned on the previous page, Boxer made this interesting comment.

In reply to the question "What motivated you to decide to return to SKT1?", he started by answering about his tiredness and his lack of desire and how Gayeon brought the idea up with him. Then this.

"For about 2 years, I have been working really hard to develop players and transferring all my experience to the team. But recently, even though the Starcraft 1 and Starcraft 2 scenes are very similar, there is a very big difference. Starcraft 2 is now an international game, and there're quite a number of international teams which are investing quite a lot of money into it. Many professional gamers started off as amateur players, and there're many elements which can shake them. When I left the team, I told the players that they have to learn to be more far-sighted, and that each one is responsible for his own life. Afterward, when everything was settled, I joined SKT1."

Bolded for emphasis. Maybe I'm reading too much into it lol

^elements being money and fame.

these days, you don't play the game for the love of it but for the reasons listed above.

Well it would seem it has to do a lot about mentality of GSL players vs KeSPA players. But on the other hand I heard that SlayerS had similar practice regime as KeSPA teams do have. Well we will never know probably... Anyway, GL Boxer in your new (old) job!! Best of luck!

There are exceptions, MarineKing seemingly being one of them.

Fantasy became the best terran WITHOUT Boxer and Oov.

But I do believe Fantasy will eventually become the best terran in SC2, his style was made for SC2.

He became good WITH Boxer and Oov though. And right now he's going to be "trying to become good" again, not the best (in star2.)

Chinese SC2 website had "three" translated articles, including one interview, on BoxeR's move to SKT.

http://s.163.com/12/0817/13/8944MK1800314D0E.html
http://s.163.com/12/0817/14/8948NJF000314D0E.html

Summary of these articles
- BoxeR signed an one year contract with SKT as a Terran Assistant Coach
- BoxeR will be focusing on training Fantasy, also other Terran players like ssak and JYJ.
- BoxeR stated that his primary focus will be making Fantasy a champion.
- BoxeR said he will be focus on training up and coming players in the short term (so.. he might come back as a player in the future)
- In the interview, BoxeR said SKT had contacted him about this position for a while. He hesitated to return to his "home" due to his "previous mistake" (what mistake does he mean here?) and SlayerS.
- He believes that SlayerS will do fine without him, and he had made arrangements to take care the players before his leave.
- BoxeR stated in the interview that he was feeling "tired" in SlayerS and has lost ambitious for a while. Jessica suggested him to talk to SKT.

Boxer also mentioned that he is having some "internal issues in Slayers" but he didn't elaborate.

Personally, I think boxer is having trouble asking certain players in his team to practice in a Kespa like regime.

Oov is more like a brother than a son

and if we start counting Midas, Canata, etc. as other sons Fantasy is like the 3rd or 4th son

man, this is sad. I remember Boxer saying, after he came back from the air force, that he wanted to be the first progamer to be playing well up into hin 30's, but I guess not . I just hopes he comes back. I reallly miss him, and his play. But the best of luck to him, maybe caoching is for the better for him.

Wait...what?

Boxer creates a team. Then plays and coaches that team...then joins another (rival) team as a coach.

What does this mean for SlayerS?

I think people forget that SKT was also a team created by Boxer, long before it was even sponsored by SK Telecom :/

The fact that the article says " Boxer's main focus is going to be making Fantasy a champion " makes me very very happy, he needs to do some catching up since he was playing so much BW all the way until the very end.
