On the weekend, you will be in Busan playing in the GSTL finals
I was hoping to do an all-kill as the starting player but MMA will have that honour (T/N: hmm... the name is definitely MMA). If I do get sent out, I will finish up nicely.
Reading JYP's interview, really revealed my heart, concerning the whole topic about MMA. I hope MMA and SlayerS will start to get along again. Else i can't explain why they would use MMA as starting player...

TL gets insane exposure, how is it possible that they have to settle for 3rd tier players, while rejecting a skillful Korean with an interesting personality like Genius?
With the amount of unique visitors every day, TL could have the most sponsor money of all teams, the best players, competing to win GSL and GSTL every season. For example, out of the 3 best foreigners, Stephano, Naniwa and Thorzain, none of them are on TL.
Even if they say a player has to be especially mannered etc (which you could say eliminates Naniwa and maybe even Stephano), what's wrong with Thorzain?
I think you vastly overestimate the money that TL makes from page-views/advertising.

And of course, it is great to hear that MMA is the starter for the GSTL finals. Hopefully this means the friction is now behind them.
Liquid is more of a "family" and I can't imagine them picking up anyone not named SuperNoVa at least until after they sign SuperNoVa.
I don't think they signed Taeja because he was "family", they signed him for raw talent. :p
but like, in liquid rising, they want players they can develop genius is well developed and possibly has already peaked.
They picked Taeja from the SlayerS talent tree tree.... What development are you talking about? Family? Like Zenio and Tyler right?
The only person I can think of that got better under TL has been Hero and maybe Ret.
I think TL has made some pretty good pickups. Hero and Taeja are obviously the biggest headliners I'd say, but I've still a notable improvement in everyone else's play as well, even if it's not past the threshold of getting them into the GSL.
Hmm MKP doesn't seem to like Reality that much xD Also Heart seems a bit egocentric to me. Maybe thank you know.. Like your team or something? The sponsors?

development as in, allowing them to shine. they discussed this in liquid rising :D

I just think people need to stop with the whole "he doesn't fit Liquid" crap. How similar were these tree pick ups, Hero, Zenio, Taeja??? They're not similar at all, they're completely different. Hero was b-teamer who had talent but no exposure. Liquid saw this and thought they could develop him. Zenio is a weird pick up. He's a guy that's not liked by many and he is low/mid level talent that already hit his ceiling. Taeja was raw top talent that was available at the right time. He was also already hugely popular within the SC2 community. I don't think Liquid has any real policy on player pick up, it's more like what they can afford and who is available at that time.
Glad Liquid didn't pick up Genius, the MVP situation always seemed shady to me and I've always found him rather arrogant. Normally I'm a huge fan of arrogance and trash talking, but it isn't a liquid thing.
As for MMA opening... FUCK YEAH! Bring on the GSTL hype!

No. Other teams, such as Mouz, EG, Empire,.... have diverse business. They have teams for other games too, such as CS, DotA, LoL,..v.v..v. their players across all the games all have pretty good and consistent results to back up face for sponsors. Tha makes them appeal so much better to sponsors, and people also visit their webpages for all the games they play, which make their unique visitors comparable to TL. TL isn't better than other teams in any way.

TL pretty much IS the Starcraft community. I'd say that puts them ahead.

Him and SuperNoVa have been Code S for really long and have yet to find a team. It's saddening how quickly Heart, Killer and NaDa got picked up by Complexity but how long it's taken for both of them to find a team. Maybe it's a salary bargaining issue. *shrug*.
