Don't forget about advertisement!

looks like Terrans are still dominating :D

When broken down by region you can see how foreign terrans don't do as well as foreign Z/P, but Korean terrans earned way more than the other two races.

Huh? They dominated 2010 and part of 2011, but the 2012 numbers are all almost equal

Soooo.... some of the top Korean players have earned as much by themselves as all the foreign players of any given race? Koreans imba!

I wonder how much of Protoss is MC alone xD

Yes, but when the price money is high the players try to win harder than on low money tournaments, don't they? Not quite sure thats true, you want to win everything, you might want to win more in big tournaments but that doesnt neccessarily mean you play better or somehow represent yourself better, im pretty sure that players dont decide to play any worse jsut because there isnt as much money as a gsl in the prize pool Players will usually bust out their trickier or innovative builds in higher stakes tournaments.

2011 is like the Golden Year for Korean Terran. So much money.

"Asia"?
Be real and make it "Korea" and "Non-Korean Asiatic Nations."
It should really be by Server, and there is no "Asian Server".
|
if you take out huk/idra, NA does even worse actually for NA, the top players just fuck up the data

The thing is most pro's have accounts on every server. But when I find some free time I might add it countrywise.

Terrans are super popular in Asia, unpopular in EU/US. Sounds about right actually.

not really because no race has reached any kind of skillcap yet
(and how would you conclude that terran has the highest skillcap just from these numbers anyway?)

Terran is high in KR, a bit lower everywhere else
P and Z is pretty equal in both number and prize
interesting stats!

On July 23 2012 02:42 Flonomenalz wrote:how did you even reach this conclusion? --- very interesting OP. Koreans imba.
Because only the Korean Terrans are winning with their OP mechanics whereas the share of Terran winnings in the rest of the world is significantly less than their Zerg and Protoss counterparts.

Until very recently Terran is the most successful race in Korea and since early 2011 the worst outside of Korea. Pretty much how it was in Broodwar. Thats not good for the foreign scene.

Not really surprised that the fewest Zergs have won money, and Protoss has won the least (even with MC lol).
Terran raking in the cash, no surprise there.
