BM is well-distributed across the races. As for hackers, I suspect many started off as cannon rushers.

That is a ridiculous. This essentially warrants a software company to not require any security measures as their recourse could be the criminal system. I'm not sure about if you're familiar with how big of a joke the system is in the US, but it's terrible. I've been banned on two accounts on the battle.net forums for letting them know how lackluster their programmers and ethics are. At the end of the day, this is ALL on Blizzard for putting greed above any ethics. Hell, I know the computer science program and business program where I studied required ethics.

It is truly disappointing that Blizzard does not check on their invited players more than that, as map hackers seems to be the flavor of the month. Just to clarify, he did NOT do the qualifiers. He was invited through ladder. Which is one of the reasons why Blizzard fucked up, it means Blizzard must have randomly picked people in GM to go to WCS, because if you look at his play its obvious he's hacking, and that when he isn't hacking he would get smashed, his gold status looks just about right. You think they would have at least glanced at a dozen or so games before inviting a guy to a somewhat prestige tournament that they are hosting.

No one ever presents concrete evidence just fabrication. The replays given weren't enough evidence for you? Whats enough evidence?

If he is a maphacker though, wont he just get annihilated at a LAN where he wont be able to use it? He shouldn't be there to begin with. He would probably get destroyed without hacks against players of higher skill, but he is still getting a free ride out there, a free hotel room for the weekend and $150 just for showing up, while there's some legit player out there thats missing this opportunity.

Ok so some guy maphacks on ladder and gets invited All it is is just a guy cheating on ladder, he isn't trying to win some major tournament or anything, and someone who cheats so blatantly clearly has no interest in joining the competetive scene, he probably just plays for himself/for fun So he gets invited to an event, clearly blizzard's fault, not his fault (he wasn't actively trying to get invited to this by maphacking) Ok, the situation isn't ideal, he probably won't go -- But even if he does go, the threats of violence or threats of trying to make his time there as bad as possible are just disgusting Of course he has no place in tournaments etc., but this is absolutely no excuse to threaten people with violence, or to imply some kind of "revenge" act or to harm that person Shame on all of you, especially disappointed by inc at the start as hes a community figure.

It's not blizzard's fault. You think blizzard have to track all the players' background history for an invite? Although the method in which blizzard invited people through ladder is incompetent and dumb, they did not deliberately try to invite hackers. It's Zack's fault to hack. It is against the terms of use to begin with. In addition, to ACCEPT the invite where he knows he hacks is just astonishingly asinine.

How do you know that he was not after this invite? It's no secret that blizzard would invite people from ladder to the WCS and that they would get free ride and hotel. Now he has a free ticket to enjoy anaheim that someone else deserved to have that might have been able to compete at a high level. There has been a ton of talk about maphacking on NA GM lately and it might have to do with GM being a qualifier to the WCS, it add a incentive to hack and with blizzards anti hack protection it's mostly safe (safe from blizzard atleast, the community seems to find the cheaters).

I don't see the point in hating on the player, the major screwup is at blizzard's end for inviting this guy based on this. Picture this scenario: I am an unknown golfer, but I have a record of getting a hole in one on every course I play. Actually though, what I'm doing is rather than using my clubs, I'm just picking up my golfball, running down the course and dropping it in the hole. The PGA hear about my awesome hole-in-one record and I get an invite to one of their tournaments. In this scenario, you have to blame the PGA for not doing their research or having safeguards in against a player like me being invited. For the same reason I look at blizzard for this messup. If they are going to use ladder for prestegious tournament invites, they need to police their own game better! We can't rely on/expect the community to do this...

That's equivalent to me hiring someone and not bother background checking them, drug testing them, etc. I'm obviously not deliberately trying to hire convicted sex offenders to teach at my preschool(just an example), but if I do, it's their fault for applying. Blizzard should be aware their game essentially does nothing to prevent any form of hacking. When they're about to shell out $1000+ on a person who went from gold to GM, you'd think they might consider any possibility, especially after these recent trend of maphackers in GM.

Hacking, especially hacking at a pro level to either win tourney money(online), or tourny invites or to scam people into giving money because your a GM is theft/fraud. Recieving something that you have not earned based on falsehoods. They should be severley punished just like any other criminal.
