It might seem like things have been quiet around the Razer Academy house recently, but tons has been going on behind the scenes. We’ve taken on four players from all around the world. The guys have been working hard, playing in online and offline events, and improving at a drastic rate. Today we’re pleased to announce who the four players are, and tease the content you can expect out of the Razer Academy in coming weeks.
Here's the first of the four now released videos, introducing Alexandre "Jemag" Desjardins.
The other three players are: Daniel "Deffex" Kornum Aleksandar "Beastyqt" Krstic Andy "giX" Benson
Aside from training in the house, players in the Razer Academy will be performing weekly replay analysis of their games, and of other pros, for the entire community. While there are plenty of strong analytical players and casters around the Starcraft scene, having four professional players breaking down gameplay for an online audience will be an invaluable resource for Starcraft fans everywhere. Expect regular live streamed, and YouTube content from each of the members of the Razer Academy.
Wow. Are you sure these players were chosen on a basis of skill? From what I've seen, it looks like they were picked purely on the basis of sex appeal.
Nice to see jemag getting an opportunity like this, he's been a pretty good player for quite some time now. Grats to the other 3 as well, looking forward to see how this turns out for all 4 of you.

No they don't shun him and Violet has referenced him in interviews for assisting with his play on a fairly regular basis (he does this for most of the members of Empire if I recall.) But I assume (<-- sorry mr. Bitter) that the house needed someone at the forefront who was moderately established but never really got the exposure he deserved. A successful work place is broken into different tiers of experience skill and knowledge and I'd assume this house would be no different.
At everyone complaining that they had exposure/were established already, really? Just being on a team doesn't really mean you're established or publicized as well as your skill sets "should" allow. I assume (sorry again Bitter) that Bitter took these players because he saw their potential and felt that with the house and not having to worry about anything that they could become more established, get the attention they deserve and become competitive players.
Final thing on this nerd rant would be that you people seem to forget, this is the first set of players they are cycling in. If you're going to do something on this scale you'd be foolish to take people you don't know much about or have never heard of. Bitter needed people with a strong work ethic that he knew would be able to get this project off without a hitch, he took people he knew and players that do have great potential and that makes it MUCH easier on him. You have to remember, he has to build a studio in this house, manage everything and make sure the players are doing what they're supposed to, while he works on top of that.
TLDR: He needed people that he knew WOULD do well given the opportunity, so that he could start the project and turn it into something that produces results for all future candidates.
Thanks for all your hard work Bitter and I look forward to seeing the content you and your boys produce.
**Also I'm not trying to put words in his mouth, assumptions are assumptions take them at face value with a grain of salt**
Edit: On topic fan of Beasty heard of Gix hadn't heard of the other two but the interviews were solid and I wish the best of luck for all people involved, can't wait to see what you can do. Though I wonder if/Hope that Beasty will continue to play in EU online cups, gives me stuff to watch at work

Haha!
Mr. Bitter btw, when are you taking the next cycle of applications?
I believe they're cycling every 3-6 months depending on their situations. He also said it is possible certain players are out, or stay longer than others. So, one spot for a player may open up before the next "batch" however, it sounded like they all get announced at the same time. (ie: the interviews beasty said he was there for almost a month while deffex was there for 5 days)
Looking forward to seeing the next players selected though, this is such a good thing for the community and really deserves way more attention ><
Thanks so much Mr Bitter. You have helped me so much in the past with zerg. It is the only reason i have ever been able to beat masters players pretty regularly. It will be great to get to keep pace with the meta game with the pros analysis.
Much props! Hope all goes well. And shout out from the SOUTH EAAASSTT!!
This is a team, that I'm really excited for, because Razer invests alot of cash in these up and coming players. Sure, Beasty is already well known. But he's an online monster and it's time for him to enter the big stages. I'm really looking forward for them to grow and develop as players.
Gratz to all. Looking forward to seeing more of BeastyQT especially - he's already such a solid player who is relatively under exposed. Expecting him to do really well in the future.
Go beasty! That guy definitely has less recognition than his skill deserves! I hope he will be more opportunities to participate in bigger tournaments, he is already smashing most foreign players you see there on a regular basis in smaller cups!
I haven't heard of anyone other than beastyqt, probably because I haven't followed NA/EU nearly as much as I feel like I should, but best of luck to everyone!
Awesome, I'm sure Idra is happy at another French-Canadian Protoss player
Jealousy is not the word as these guys deserve their opportunity, well I'm a little jealous but I wish them well! Beastqt is a monster as well from what I've seen
Good Luck to all the players who are training at the Razer Academy House! :D I look forward to seeing updates and checking oute everyones streams in the future!
I seem to remember them saying there would be content done by the housed players (such as some casting, streaming, blogging, replaypacks, etc). Either I haven't been looking attentively, or it hasn't started yet. Any word?
Any update on whats going on with this? I remember them saying something about the players would only stay for 3 months and then they'd bring in 3 different players oo;
So bitters/razer aren't doing anything public with anything in this house? it's the players that randomly get accepted that randomly just mention they got in?

why's that?
It was supposed to be much more public for the players. It was basically supposed to be what the coL house camera is like where you can track the progress for a few months of players and basically root them on. However, it appears* to be that people are just* going there to practice. In any case, I know gix and a few others that were there showed considerable improvement, so hopefully they get a little more public. And even if not, Mr Bitter will keep pushing the players that do go there forward, regardless of publicity. :p
*=even if that's how it looks it's still a great opportunity for players, and definitely something that should be appreciated by the community.

Because nothing that MrBitter promised for the players who attended actually happened. Publicity opportunities, casting opportunities, connections, etc.
