I think he is right that Bisu has gotten little credit the last couple of years, he just hasn't won anything (Big) since 2008 (MSL) while still being considered top 3 (FBJ) 2009-2010 (2011?), being super-consistent in PL and so forth.. Correct me if I'm wrong, haven't been following closely since SC2 came out.. Go Bisu!
Bisu 2010 was garbage (relative to top form Bisu). Losing in every Ro32 / Ro36, relatively unimpressive SPL record, and was the source of countless fanboy tears. There was even a thread about how Bisu wasn't even a top 10 Protoss. He only picked it up when the next SPL season began toward the end of that year. Kal was Kespa Protoss of the year 2010, and for other parts of that year Free was the best Protoss.
Bisu probably peaked from fall 2008 to mid-to-late 2009, when he was an SPL king and also picked up an MSL and GSL gold. His 2011 SPL run is the best ever, but he never made it past a Ro16 around then so he wasn't as good overall. And 2007 Bisu won 2 MSLs, but was not that impressive in SPL (Stork was the Protoss SPL boss that year).
Bisu hasn't made it past a Ro16 since Q2 of 2009, irrc. But he's still baller in SPL in 2011 and 2012 - I don't know if the Cowboys have to do with that.
Ok, I had to dig out the old "Bisu sucks" threads from early 2010.

That was a sad time to be a Bisu fan. Thank god he turned it around.

If not, not worth a single thread at all :/ ...and your post is not worth anything also. Trolls should get banned imo. Its Sc2 section , so ... People get bans or warnings for post like that in Bw section.. Actually, what you are doing is trolling. We don't have hype threads for SC2 players playing SC BW, do we? SC BW people playing SC2, SC2 people playing BW, neither something to be excited about. Doesn't have anything to do with the game. Actually, when HuK played BW against Boxer at some MLG when the internet was down, there was a lot of threads and even VODs.. Not really pre-hype and not really the same deal since Boxer did play his fair share of BW back in the day, but anyway. The first post is really stupid, because yes they will be bad but the BW legends are still absolutely AMAZING to see, regardless the format. I would watch them play a tournament in chess as well.
Thats what i think MLG is going for. You have to watch to enjoy your BW players play. The games won't be as high tier as some others, since the structure they follow practices two games. They need more experience.
All in all, you have to know and like the players for this tournament to be worthwhile imo.

Sc2 scrubs should watch closely, these ppl will be dominating the scene in no time. If you dont want to see future champs in action - sure, dont bother. They will get enough viewers regardless.

First of all thanks for an amazing recap!
Haha, I remember the slump period since it was pre-SC2 :D Yeah, except 2010 he has been such a boss in proleague though. You are correct he doesn't preform in the individual leagues, but a starleague is a lot less games so I believe you can't really say he wasn't good overall. He just didn't make it in individuals.
What I was trying to say is that everyone always expected so much from him, because he has shown enormous potential, but he always seemed to not go all the way..

I don't know if this has been addressed yet but i think that this is also a two-way street... these bw players have incredible influence and have huge fan bases in korea.... some people have said that sc2 is not yet established in korea and there are some other games that are as popular or even more popular.... if these influential bw players aren't impressed by what the foreign sc2 players and audience has to offer and these bw players choose to express anything other than love and passion for sc2, then this could turn away many potential korean fans.....
personally, i come from the bw side of things so i may be a little ignorant... however, i believe that because of this situation, even the most apathetic person has reason to cheer for these 'elephants'.... if these players can somehow bring their fans to sc2 (really hard to do but if it is possible, these players will do it), this could mean more fans for players like stephano, idra, ret, etc....

once they fully switch (around september) i have no doubt that their training regime(10-13 hours a day) will translate into good results.

Fail. Nada has been in pro-scene 2001.

The broodwar guys are comingeh. So far I don't see them as a legitimate threat to "win everything" yet. But they have time to practice and improve.

Also, shouts out to MLG for making this event free. I am really grateful

I wonder how many can really make a dominating scene in SC2. highly doubt all of them can be as good as they were in bw.
Especially the bw zergs because you just can't really play aggressive zerg in SC2 (at least not the same way in bw anyway)

In addition to this, these players still have to practice BW at the same time. So with this in mind, I don't think we should EXPECT results like 1st to 3rd place finishes from these players. I'm not saying that wouldn't be OMGWTFBBQAWESOME!!! but we, as fans, shouldn't be disappointed if they don't finish in the higher places. Gonna be looking forward to how far they can get into the tournament ^^ If I didn't read it wrong they will only be playing each other in an expo tournament. Therefore we can indeed expect top3 finishes.
Oh, haha nvm then ^^;

Are they allowed to enter the main tournament if they so choose to? Pretty sure they will be able to crush mid-tier foreigners already.
