I'm assuming yes, wouldn't make much sense otherwise

Actually, there is still SPL happening this weekend. It's just that the star players won't be at SPL due to MLG obligations this weekend.

I feel like CJ is the team that get the most advantage out of the MLG Showmatch because they get to keep their best player (Effort) and send out Leta instead

I hope that the BW Pros actually decide to compete in the open MLG Bracket

The entire purpose of this BW Tournament is to hype up even more the SC2 PL and the kespa-MLG partnership.

They want the dull, ignorant and clueless people to think "OMG FLASH VS JAEDONG SO GOOD WTFOMG JIZZ IN MY PANTS MY BODY IS NOT READY" and not "Oh god..Flash just got rolled by a codeB no namer and Jaedong got anally raped by Socke".

It would be against their interests to send BW pros in the open Bracket, because they would get utterly destroyed and it would lessen the hype by a great amount.

They want them to play against themselves so that the viewers can't properly tell their level of skill compared to the codeS level of play, and soon people will start nonsense like "omg did you see that Flash timing vs Soulkey? Could totally beat DRG with it"

You really say nasty things about Jaedong.

People really shouldn't be allowed to say such things about Jaedong. I think this is great though that it will introduce the BW Pros to the casual viewership that haven't seen them before. Kind of like Exhibition games.

To put this into another perspective:

Most of them have played SC2 for only a month.

That means the first week after, they'll get 25% better before (1 month and 1 week of practice).

The next week, they'll get 20% better than before (5 weeks > 6 weeks).

And the next week they'll get about 17% better than before.

In other words, by the time MLG comes, they'll be almost twice as better than their SPL debut.

(Motive had 4 months of SC2 practice and he is already approximately Code A level. Effort has had 1 month and is almost Code A level. I think an extra month will significantly help them.)

i cant tell if you're serious

Hey I noticed Idra replied to this. Most of them did do almost twice as better than their SPL debut (well at least the Zergs and Flash did). (Also I'm not counting Jaedong's attempt at doing a queen nydus rush.)

The Flash vs Soulkey game was good.
