You really say nasty things about Jaedong.

Oh really? They've played the game for about a month, maybe a month in a half. There's no reason to send them into a pool of sharks.
I personally believe this partnership is a greedy and stupid move by MLG. They're just trying to monopolize SC E-Sports. Oh! Were here to help E-sports! Then they request an "exclusive-agreement".
It's all about business and bragging rights which is completely understandable, but at least be smart about it, by showing respect to the people who gave your organization a way to make a profit. Everybody know's the current Brood War players aren't ready to attend an event such as MLG. They've been playing SC2 for how long now? 1 1/2 months? While dual practicing for Brood War? For crying out loud, GIVE THEM TIME TO BREATHE! MLG is just hosting this event for some extra revenue, they could give a fuck less about the players reputation and criticism they will receive IF they don't meet the critics expectations. It wouldn't be a problem if they had of waited 6-12 months to do this event but while they're still practicing Brood War? Really?

How will this affect their proleague matches? Will they just not be able to play in them?

Six months would be too late -- heck, even the Summer Championships at Raleigh would be too late -- for an exhibition like this, given OGN's plans to hold an individual SC2 tournament, possibly as early as next month. As far as I know, there hasn't been any further news on it since the big joint press conference, but that had to have had an impact on MLG's planning there.

I don't think OGN will do any SC2 singles tournament till October when they switch fully to SC2. Having a SC2OSL alongside the actual OSL would be unfair to the players still in the late states of the final BW OSL. And the games wouldn't really show us who is the best player because they're still practicing both games.

I think that would be a bit of a slap in the face to the KeSpa players

To add onto it the exact start time is unique to each team but several admitted to full time practicing sc2 the moment they were eliminated from the playoffs which was well longer than 1.5 months ago.

People need to stop using the word monopoly for everything. Guess what, MLG has a monopoly on MLG events! OMG. A partnership with another organization isn't a monopoly, man.
You're acting like MLG is physically forcing these players against their will to do this, when really the only ones doing that are probably their coaches/Kespa. Do you know that the players don't want to do this/don't feel ready? Can you stop assuming how everyone involved in this deal feels? Maybe all 8 of these people really want to play for foreigners. Guess what, you don't know every side of the story
And also, organizations generally want to make money.

Now you guys are highlighting their KeSPA record?
What the fuck gives? They're not even playing BW, so why the fuck are you highlighting their BW records Adam? WTH. ._.

Problem. This isn't even a BW Tournament, so all of that becomes void. These guys are still going to need a buttload of time with the current build. I don't know why the hell they don't just put the matches on the HotS build they're getting.
Then again, there's a lot of things that MLG does that just doesn't make sense.

Flash, Jaedong, Bisu, ... Fantasy, Stork, Calm ... reading this is weird. Those names have so much weight and all I do is hope for them to keep it.

Isn't OSL finish like at the end of July? So it might be possible to see the OSL for SC2 then, and BW pro would just reduce the practice time of BW to like 5% because Ace match in PL is SC2 anyway.

How about instead of bitterly picking apart this event and looking at the glass half empty we try to flip it around.
For many of these players, they have never been to US or Anahiem for that matter. This will be their first MLG experience which is different from the typical Korean affair. They are getting all travel and hotel accomodations paid for, so this won't likely cost them much. Disney Land is across the street, I hear its alright. They get to see the hype the foreign scene has for them, even if it is BW, we still remember their accomplishments on the other side of the world. Even at their worst, they are going to be better then 99% of those spectating, so they won't embarass themselves. And they get a kind of insight into how an MLG event is run so that if they attend seriously in the future, they will know what to expect.
Not to mention they are almost certainly invited to the parties, barcrafts, and other festivities.
So I seriously doubt playing a handful of exhibition matchs one day and having the other 2.5 days to experiece everything above is weighing all that heavily on them.

You could even argue that the rise in popularity abroad got him a net increase in "weight" even with the decrease from hardcore BW fans or Korea.

Looks like OGN's going ahead with singles SC2 as planned. With the first SC2 OSL prelims next month, Anaheim was the only MLG venue that made sense for such an exhibition.
