Really nice interview with 2GD btw. Even though the video stole my morning away from me, it was worth the while.

wow exceptional interview JP!

I never thought 2GD was so business savvy. I've been a fan since hearing him cast Quake years ago, but I never thought that there would be such a serious, goal-oriented person behind that goofy exterior.

Also, loved the kitten. The GD Studio should think about replacing Semmler with half a dozen kittens.

Also really surprised to hear about the fight with Sam Mathews lol..I always thought 2GD complemented Fnatic really well, and when he left for ESL TV, Sam made it sound like a huge tragedy for the team...I guess he's still not on good terms with him since he didn't mention Fnatic when speaking about teams, but preferred to mention Dignitas, who have probably invested much less in StarCraft II.

No jokes he really does love talking about himself... hearing the background on these guys is interesting, but probably went too long on this latest episode. The rest of his insight was just so compelling though! He has such a great understanding of the industry, and for someone who we haven't really seen around the SC2 scene until recently with the Day9 comments, his overview of it was astounding, and he's obviously in a great place to make all the comments that he did. Absolutely a fan of his brutal honesty and it was lovely that someone in the know finally threw out a few numbers player/caster salary/fee wise as I feel like they've been hidden from us for so long just because of this fear that we won't enjoy the content so much if we know? That we'll expect and demand more if we hear how serious the money is these guys are taking home? I think me and a lot of others would disagree with him that Day9 isn't casting well, but he made a nice save with the fatality compasion

For some reason there wasn't much explanation of what the GDstudio was? I was having trouble following that as the conversation went on, so JP asking them to clarify first might be a good idea next time.

The most poignant of his comments I think were those about MLG strong-arming the competition (which I'm sure he loved saying on JP's show), and not having the mindset that demonstrably 2GD, and I think optimistically most of esports does, which is that the best way to forward is to help EVERYONE grow. MLG sees it as a bonus to knock out IPL or have some sort of monopoly on NA majors, I see it as one less great tournament for the scene. I don't think that MLG are money hungry monsters, but I think that after seeing their Halo exclusivity deal go down in flames, they're definitely letting business get in the way of doing the best thing ultimately for esports.

With SOTG struggling to even keep the pillars regular atm, it's really good to see you producing some fresh, on point coverage JP, love it!

P.S. Future request: I want to say Artosis, but I don't have 16 hours in a row free at any point.... Maybe Khaldor? On a sort of voyeuristic level I'd like to hear about someone who is a more recent addition to the SC scene and how they pentrated this sometimes old boys club.

I am so glad that this interview happened. James has a unique personality and it's crazy that he is not that well-known in the community. I love some of the comments above - this interview changed the way a lot of people see 2GD, which shows that people are more complex than what you see in a short video or read in a forum. Hopefully now more and more people will follow the things he does, starting from tonight's SC2 Arena.

JP, you are bringing interviews to a whole new level, congratulations on a job excellently done! Keep going!

As for the future guests - i think that a combination of people with extensive background in e-sports and people who have recently emerged will be a good idea. Khaldor, as the guy above me proposes, would be an interesting guest (obviously, there won't be enough content to top the 3 hrs with 2GD, but i don't think this is a problem

). Day9 would be an obvious choice, but he is so well known that there is hardly anybody who is not aware of his background, so maybe he should be "saved" for the near to not-so-near future. My personal wish for the next guest - TLO.

JP, this show is the best thing you've done in ages and I mean that as a compliment! Incredibly good episode, I don't know whether anyone can top this.

2GD is very right, you're so good at this kind of stuff, if there's any way you could put more time into this than in your casting, you should do it. I love it.

Even though 2GD was practically the perfect guest for a show like this, there are so many more people I'd be equally interested to hear from.

If you take guest suggestions, I'd love to see Nazgul and Khaldor in the future.

Really awesome work JP, much appreciated! Especially the latest one with 2GD was just so good, amazing how you can watch a youtube video for 3 hours and hardly even reflect how long it is.
